For the past four months in Libya, rebel forces made up of civilians and army defectors have been waging battles against Muammar Qaddafi's armed forces, holding their own and sometimes advancing with the assistance of NATO air strikes. Scrambling to arm themselves against mercenaries and a professional army, rebels have been making use of everything they can -- from using captured weapons and munitions to rigging anti-aircraft guns and aircraft rocket launchers to the backs of civilian pickup trucks. Collected here are recent images of some of this weaponry used by the Libyan rebels.

I vory warfare. ;-)
Did you notice the instructions on the Russian made rocket launchers were in English? I wonder how that came to be? Did we supply the rebs with some confiscated Russian weapons that we had in order to make it appear that we had not been involved for some time previous to the current fighting? Those Russian rocket lauchers looked to be in good shape compared to the junk in other pictures.
The writing on the wall says SAFETY IS OUR FIRST MISSION.
Wow, I think you’re right. At least some of them do look like it. (I knew people in this thread would see things I had missed, and I haven’t been disappointed!)

Guns are genetic.
For later.
Disarm Americans, and the guy that was satisfied with owning a bolt action rifle and a six shot single action revolver, suddenly becomes a guy that wants a full auto rifle and a 15 round pistol.
What you write is so very true.
I used to be the only one of my girlfriends who could shoot, and was known as "the one with the guns". My husband and I have always enjoyed shooting together at the range, hunting together, and so on. I was taught by my dad who grew up hunting, was in the military, and carried for self defense. He wanted his daughter to be able to hunt and shoot.
When the Obama Administration came on board and everyone suddenly began to pay attention to the Second Amendment, I lost count of the girlfriends who went to Don't you think it's a little weird for a woman to do this? to What would you suggest I buy/How hard is it to get a CCW/Do you think I need to get an ____/Where would you go for training?
As you say, suddenly, everyone wanted something they never gave a thought to before because they didn't want to be deprived.
It's good that people are concerned now though. Better to be educated than to be ignorant and better to be prepared than blindsided by events beyond your control.
Women in particular aren't satisfied with just a small purse guns anymore, they want something a little more serious.
