[Unwed] Desperate mother-of-three sells handwritten letter from Obama to avoid being evicted
The Daily Mail ^ | June 15, 2011 | Rachel Quigley

Posted on 06/15/2011 6:11:51 AM PDT by grundle

The 26-year-old was an avid campaigner for Mr Obama in 2008, getting T-shirts made and encouraging people in her neighbourhood to vote.

She said: 'I campaigned for him hard. I got the shirts made, the Barack the Vote shirts made. We've done a lot.'

It was about half way into the President's term that things took a downward spiral for her.

Her third baby was born prematurely with health problems and with limited daycare options she could no longer work.

Her partner also left around this time.

With nowhere else to turn, she decided to write the President a letter.

She told him she was optimistic for change when she campaigned for him and that now she feels her future is bleak and unpromising. Despite this she also praised the President and his efforts.

She wrote: 'I do think people are coming down too hard on you and your administration. An eight-year mess cannot be fixed in only two years’ time.

'I am still behind you 100 per cent and so is my family. My dad is a disabled Vietnam Veteran and he tells my seven-year-old son, Silas, that he should strive to be just like you.

To Ms Mathis' surprise, she received a handwritten response from the President shortly after.

He told her that she had a 'positive spirit', that she inspired him and promised her that things would get better for her and her family.

But now, eight months later, things have not improved and she is being forced to sell the letter in the hope that she can avoid eviction.

She said: 'We need to move as soon as possible. We need a three bedroom. I'm not working, so no-one is giving me a chance.'

Note to self: To prevent eviction, do not keep a handwritten letter from the Anointed One.

An eight-year mess cannot be fixed in only two years’ time.

Who fed you THAT line, honey? Prices for gas and food were much lower during that 'eight year mess'...more jobs were available, as well.

What 'eight year mess' was that again?

"...History’s revolutions and upheavals...are rarely fueled by the starving and despised, but (rather) by the subsidized and frustrated, who either see their umbilical cord threatened, or their comfort and subsidies static rather than expansive..."

Thank you; there is much truth in your statement.

I just learned something.

"... I HOPE THAT THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED, AND VOTED, FOR OBAMA GET HIT FIRST AND HARDEST. ..."

Me three... Actually, what I'd REALLY like is for some enterprising reporter to track down Peggy Johnson-you know, the um, 'big boned' woman who got filmed burbling about how Obama was gonna pay her bills, put gas in her tank, et cetera et cetera ad nauseum ad infinitum? I'd like to know how she's doing today-hopefully worse than Destiny. And I too want the same for all BHO's supporters.

First there was NO 8 year mess. The downturn only started about 1 year before Obama took office and has got much worse under his policies. Once a fool always a fool I guess. Hope you enjoy the change you worked hard for fool.

She’s a commie-mommie, married to Uncle Sugar.

She’ll be at the trough as long as there’s even a hope of a payout.

She’s on the plantation.

It looks like she's looking for a free house!!

Not just any free house. She needs a three bedroom house, for now. If she gets pregnant again, which is probable, she may need a bigger house.

Wouldn’t it be a kick in the butt to find out that her “handwritten letter” was done by a secretary?

*******

I feel so sorry for the young mother. I hope that she finds some help and that she is not evicted.

But just wondering: Is it just my imagination, but is Obama's signature on that letter so much different from Obama's signature on the Selective Service form we see on the internet?

I realize that many people's signatures change over time, but Obama's signature on this letter to the young mother and Obama's signature on his Selective Service form that we see on the internet and that supposedly was signed in the late 1970s are so different that it looks to me like two different people signed the two documents.

I am not saying Bush was not weak and ineffective on this, he certainly was less conservative as a president than I hoped.
