Back in '08 we hosted a group of adult english students from the Czech. They were the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, and smart as whips to boot. But to a man they worshipped the ground that then-candidate Zero walked on. "Are you going to vote for that Great Man?" they repeatedly asked me. "He will be your Havel!" They hold thier Presidient Vaclav Havel in Lincolnesque esteem for having the stones to stand up to the Kremlin. The only thing my guests hated more than Russia is the Church, but that is another story.
I wonder what they are thinking now.
