The U.N. Human Rights Council is poised for a historic vote Friday on a U.S.-backed resolution in support of gay rights.
Obama administration officials believe they have a slim majority of support in the 47-nation council in Geneva.
The resolution would be the first gay rights statement to pass a U.N. vote.
