Gingrich demands apology from NBC for report on wife

Newt Gingrich is demanding an apology from NBC News after it aired a report citing complaints from unnamed former advisers blaming his wife, Callista, for many of the problems that led to his campaign's staff shake-up last week.

"I believe NBC owes Callista an apology, because the fact is my campaign is my campaign," Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News's Greta Van Susteren. "Yes, we make decisions as a couple, but in the end, I take full responsibility. And I think the program this morning was totally irresponsible, and personally reprehensible, and the kind of thing that makes it hard to get decent people to run for public office."

Newt is getting into Muskie territory now. His campaign is sinking fast.

The thing that caught my eye was the photo of his wife (hadn't seen her before.) A couple of things struck me - she is pretty creepy. And, do they have a factory that manufactures Calistas?

For once NBC got something right and Newt can’t handle it.

Newt has OBNOXIOUSLY used the term “we” when answering virtually any question over the last few years. “We” aren’t sure we’re running; “our” position is xxxx on whatever, etc.

So dragging his third or fourth wife or whatever she is into things at this point is fair game.

The forehead and weird eye looks like she is quite fond of Botox. (IMHO). She does have that “Stepford” look about her, doesn’t she?

I notice him using “we” almost twenty years ago. Found it patronizing and demeaning.

Calista isn’t my ‘cup of tea,’ but the point is that you will never, ever see NBC doing a report on Michelle Robinson Obama, i.e.. why she was never before ‘08 proud of her country, or on rumors about her and Jarrett’s undue influence on Oval Office policies.

This type story is why Daniels chose not to run, and stories about the Palins may drive Sarah not to run. Newt’s right about that point. The MSM cannot trash spouses/kids and expect good people to run for office.

I saw the Greta interview. He doesn’t even deny the report is true, but wants an apology nonetheless.

I do not want Newt as president either...BUT....these nasty attacks on him are not good. Gingrich is not perfect....but then neither are the rest of us.

We can speak to the poor decisions he has made by dealing with substance rather than simple ad hominem. After all, the ad hominem form is argument is most used by liberals.

When my wife looks at horses to buy, she immediately passes on any one that has eyes like those. She calls it “devil eye” and says horses with eyes like that will get you killed.
