“I’m not sure the establishment Republicans would even get the message or give sh*t if if they did.”
There is zero doubt in my mind that the GOP is too far gone to recover. It really is the Menshevik party, at this point.
Trump was on Greta the other night & said if the Republicans nominate a loser, he may change his mind & run for President as an Independent. He has the werewithal to make good on his threat.
As long as Romney is campaigning as a Democrat, I’d rally around nearly any other Republican - but let the process continue. It’s early enough for Mitt to Flip-Flop a few more times, but I can’t count on him. Sorry.
I refuse to choose between two different versions of Democrats. If we’re going to continue to flush the country down the toilet, we might as well choose the worst candidate and get it over with.
I’m calling you two when the flames start. :)
This is just more of the same crap the GOP has been spouting for decades. Look where it has got us.
The powder is dry! Although I will tell you I don’t often get into flame wars these days. Ya can’t fix stupid!
To heck with calling. You better be standing by with a fire brigade complete with extra hoses and pumper trucks. The other day I said that I thought it was not outside the realm of possibility that Palin will make an independent run. Man there was smoke pouring out of my computer. Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell a fury like a FReeper scorned. My apologies to William Congreve.
Tell us how you really feel about it!
I agree completely, though I kinda cringe at the visual.
I'd vote third party before I'd vote for Romney.
How about Republican politicians uniting behind the Constitution, Haley?
Like the Republican party united behind Christine O'Donnell, Joe Miller or Sharon Angle? That kind of unity? Well?
...and to add, Haley, will you unwaveringly support Palin should she become the nominee? Will the rest of the GOP elites do so as well? Talk is cheap.
Since you’ve been around even longer than I have, I will bow to the superior knowledge.
I actually agree with you with regard to Palin. I’m also rather surprised at the number of Freepers who seem to think she’d settle for the second spot on someone else’s ticket. If she’s in, she’s all-in, in my opinion.
You’re correct. No way she’ll accept second fiddle. Not only that I doubt anyone would want her as Veep. Talk about being eclipsed. The spotlight would always be on her.
Superior knowledge? I think not. Perhaps wisdom of age or even better yet, tired of arguing. At any rate, I enjoy posting to and with those whom I find common ground and sorta ignore the rest. We definitely have common ground concerning “our vote” and where it shall be cast or not!
Well, I try not to get into a lot of flame wars myself. But you’re Class of ‘98 so that’s cool by me. :)
What gets me, frankly, is this notion that posters here should stop supporting conservatives if the nominee happens to be a RINO. I have been led to believe that that’s not what this site is about. It’s about advancing conservatism. Conservatism won’t just beat Obama, it will destroy him.
Run a conservative alternative, or risk a three-way race.
Romney and Obama will be competing for the same 40% of liberal Democrats and liberal RINOs.
A third-party conservative will win this election cycle, unlike any election cycle since 1860.
Yeah, and He was in one election.
The crowd chose Barabbas by acclamation.
Like Barbour, they believed that "in politics, purity is a loser."
