RIP. Man, that guy could blow. What a magnificent rock and roll saxophonist. So sad to hear of his early passing. What a talent. They were playing some of his greats on the radio. Heaven’s band’s gain is our loss.
What a loss. I’ve seen Clarence play live a number of times, and you could always tell when he was getting ready to rip, because he would drop a mike down the bell of his sax, and then just let loose.
I feel so old.......
I just saw something the other day that said he was making a miraculous recovery. Sorry to see him go.
Yep...I saw Springsteen a bunsh of times in the mid 70’s....ahhh the good old days.
Early passing? He was 69.
RIP Clarence Clemons. You know, the Big Man also had solo albums. I loved them too.
this is so awful. what sad news.
Damn he was good. Rest in Peace, Clarence..
I loved this hokey song he did with Jackson Browne back in the 80’s

I agree!
Hey! the older I get the ‘earlier’ 60 becomes!
Never was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen, but Clarence Clemmons sure was one hell of a sax player! I would listen to Born to Run just to hear his solo.
errr...make that 69. 60 is downright juvenile.

That song Clarence did with Jackson Browne and Darryl Hannah is still one of my favorites. (’You’re A Friend Of Mine’) I was fortunate to be able to see Clarence with Springsteen in 1974 before they hit the big time, and then again with Ringo Starr in 1989. He stood out on stage and was always a highlight of the show.
RIP
See post 10 but here’s the one you’re thinking of:

His sax absolutely MADE Springsteen's greatest song, 'Rosalita', as great as it is.
No doubt, Springsteen owes a lot to Clarence Clemons (and vice versa, of course).
RIP Clarence. Though your riff on Jungle Land always reminded me of my saddest time and what will never be, I thank you for it. God Bless.
Same here. ;(
