You are right about Governor Perry getting it wrong. But, you also seem to imply at the end of your comment that “sexually active” females deserve to suffer the consequences is not right. If there is a medical innovation that can help and save them, why not? Of course, an unproven one, and a government mandadated on like Gardasil is not the right answer. I agree with that part.

I agree it needs to be studied a lot longer. Here’s the bugaboo about the immunization, which is supposed to last throughout one’s lifetime, BTW. All the doctors I’ve seen on TV explaining it have said that it must be given before the age of 15 (either 14 or 15, can’t remember which) or it will not work or protect against the HPV, which often leads to cervical cancer at some point in a woman’s life. So the fact that it was called for at such a young age had nothing to do with sexual activity. It’s for protecting throughout the future. In other words, the docs said if a woman wanted to get the shot in her 20’s, it wouldn’t do any good.
