Part of the attraction to West is how honest and strong he comes across. I think Americans (for the most part) are desparate for a true leader like that and don’t see many on the horizon. I so want someone who doesn’t bend to the political winds but has real convictions of what America should be. We know West is a great leader and understands America, unlike Obama. West wants America to be great, unlike Obama. I just pray he doesn’t get into the Washington mindset and compromise his beliefs.
We really don’t ‘know’ West at all as he’s completely new to the public scene. Fortunately there are millions and millions of honest Americans who want America to be great.. But that doesn’t mean they should be first in line to the presidency.
We “know” he spent 22 years in the Army. That tells me something.
Enough to want to make him VP?
Perhaps you don’t know enough 22-year veterans.
I don’t want him to be VP. I want him to be president.
What happened to ‘I Love Sarah 2012”?
I just don’t think she will run.
Yeah, it was pretty stupid of the country to have elected Eisenhower, too.
And West, a lt. col. forced to retire and completely new to the American public is now another Ike? Jeesh!
My dream ticket!!!!
Well....maybe not quite as accomplished as Ike. LOL.
If only West was as conservative as his fans think he is.
Which of his votes have you disagreed with?
;-)
Well, his vote to keep a hundred million dollars in funding for ObamaCare school clinics would be one. Everyone knows those are nothing more than gateways to the Planned Parenthood baby-killing centers.

No surprises there, though, for those of us who bothered to find out that West makes all sorts of exceptions on abortion.
His support for the race hustlers’ Pigford black reparations scheme would be another.

He explains his school clinic vote. As for his views on abortion:
Allen West voted in favor of the amendment to prevent funds from going to planned parenthood

Pigford - still waiting for his explanation other than it was a “mistake” as he has reportedly stated.
I love the guy but don’t expect to agree with him on every issue. I do have a problem with his support of continuing the war in Afghanistan, but he was there and I wasn’t.
From his own website:
"In the case of rape, incest, and "actual" endangerment of a mother's health the decision truly belongs with a woman."
I have mixed thoughts about the exceptions. From a purely theoretical perspective, I am against abortion. If my daughter were raped or the victim of incest, or her life were in danger from continuing a pregnancy, I can’t honestly say how I would feel.
The "rape" talking point is disingenuous. A standard medical exam of a raped woman includes a dose of "emergency contraception." We know from recent simian studies it doesn't prevent implantation of a fertilized embryo, it prevents ovulation.
Then we have nothing to worry about.
