Any idea who has the authority to appoint a special prosecutor in this situation?

I believe the judiciary committee can request the solicitor general to appoint one...that is what happened when the dummos went after Gonzalez.

Usually it’s the Attorney General who makes that appointment. In this case, since the AG would be the target, I don’t really know.
