The buzz about Texas Gov. Rick Perrys possible entrance into the presidential race grows, but the Republicans cheerleaders ought to tread carefully when it comes to a Perry candidacy very carefully.

Whether Perry runs or not, it was great to hear some conservative say the left will never like us so don’t bother kowtowing to them. What a breath of fresh air after the John McCain hangover.
Is Romney paying Stuart to write this stuff?
Palin is a stalking horse for Perry. She won’t run, but he will and we’ll draft him to avoid Romney. Perry has plenty of warts, but we should always be willing to move to the most viable conservative candidate.
Check out where FReepers have uncovered something very big.
Actually, after reading the article, I had to wonder whether Perry’s people paid for this “hit piece.” There really were no explicit negatives, except for the hand-wringers inside the Beltway and on Jenkins Hill, in both of the big Partys.

100% right, and ironically, that remark by Perry was no doubt aimed at George “compassionate conservative - new tone” Bush, whom he cannot stand. And yet, without Bush, we’d probably never know the name Perry.
I’d vote for that!
I still want Palin to run. She’s been through the hatchet job and they have nothing. While I like Perry and he’d definitely be better than Romney and he isn’t afraid to take on 0bama, what could they dig up on him? That’s always my question and where there’s a disadvantage. The pitfalls are waiting for all of them. I love how Palin will say it and the fact they have got nothing on her in this nonstop 3 yr. garbagefest.
“He is simply too conservative, too Texas and too cowboy in a general election, most strategists believe.”
In other words, it’s Romney or Nobody.
Don’t know a lot about Perry but I know that this attitude “He is simply too conservative, too Texas and too cowboy in a general election, most strategists believe.” is typical RINO, GOP establishment crap.
Say what you will...and the detractors will...he has done a lot for Texas. He had a few crazy ideas...like the toll roads...but all in all he has conservative views and has implemented them..though the governor here has limited powers.
Having said that....I hope he stays here in Texas. We need him when the Zero administration is trying to take down America. Perry has been bucking the system and good for him!
Repeat after me. I am not another George Bush.
I would like to see Perry run. While watching his speech manerisms yesterday I could not help but think of Huey Long. I am not implying any of Long’s negatives, just he reminded me of him.
I also cannot get out of my mind, how (.)bama completely dismissed him when he welcomed him to Texas. He had a letter he wished to give him and der leader just waived him off. I want that waive off to come back an bite him hard.
Amen to that! I just heard Susan Collins on a morning talk radio show and she was just gushing about Barbara Boxer.
Enough!
The rumors of his sexuality are ridiculous.
Great thread last night on this HERE.
As if any disaster could be greater than Obama.
Collins, Snowe and Boxer, now that is one horrible mental image.
