Thanks for reinforcing my point.

I don’t need you or any other so-called “conservative” trying to tell my what the situation is in my state.

I and many like me are living through it...doing what we can to right the ship with or without your “help”.

Just sayin’...

Thank you, brother...I felt better just reading your post. It gets tiresome reminding these people California elected Ronald Reagan.

I’d love to agree with you, but can’t. CA isn’t anything so nice as it was when I was young (and I mean young adult, not a kid, when it was even better). I lived there 50 years, fought every two years in every political campaign there was, helped pass Props 174, 187 and 209, watched judges eviscerate them and the politicos destroy commerce and industry. So, I gave up and moved out.

I now live in North Carolina, which for a short while looked like wanting to be CA east. Then a whole bunch of conservatives arrived. Now, the Republican Party runs the state and it’s only a matter of time until a Republican sits in the governor’s chair. It can be done, but strong conservatives need to be there and be active. That’s what’s missing now in CA: you may be the exception and for that I laud you, but there are now too few of you. You can suffer the slings and arrows of endless Democratic idiocy or you can cut your losses and get out. I recommend the latter. It’s what I did and I am not looking back.

I applaud your civic pride, responsibility and optimism. However considering the financial, demographic, moral, cultural and political state of CA the enthusiasm is unwarranted. It will never turn around. CA is in terminal decline to be America's first de-certified state. By 2040 it will return to territory status via US Congressional vote and will then be annexed by Mexico in a popular vote in exchange for public debt assumption.

You think they would today? I don’t.

Give me a strong leader who can (key phrase here) ARTICULATE conservative principals with a simple strong message and he'll be elected almost anywhere. And yes, in California.

And NO, I'm not seeing one now. But I can still hope.

That is a great thing to do and I commend you. I also sympathize what you and all honorable Californians are going through. It was hell just a short while ago and from what I see has only gotten worse.

May God bless and keep you.

Thanks, but in other words, just surrender and accept our “fate”?

As long as I call CA home, it’s not gonna happen. I will not wake up each morning and tell myself that there is nothing I can do to change things.

Nor will I demonstrate to our son that in the face of overwhelming odds one should tuck their tail and run.

For now, CA is home. What do I do when the state we retire to heads in the same general direction? Become a gypsy?
