You are absolutely correct. They have about as much of a chance of catching an actual terrorist with these programs as they do finding a lump of gold by panning Lake Michigan.

This is by far the most logical explanation for the expansion of tsa power, intrusiveness, near-total lack of accountability. I see they are trying to let them carry guns now too.
