Wis. one of last states to approve concealed carry

Lawmakers in Wisconsin, one of the last states to prohibit the carrying of concealed weapons, approved lifting the ban Tuesday and sent Republican Gov. Scott Walker a measure he is expected to quickly sign into law.
Once Wisconsin's measure takes effect this fall, Illinois will be the only state that bans carrying guns, knives and other concealed weapons.
Supporters of the measure, which passed Wisconsin's GOP-controlled Legislature with bipartisan support, said the fact that none of 48 other states with similar laws have had to repeal them shows opponents' fears about concealed carry are unwarranted.
Rep. Jeff Mursau, R-Crivitz, called the proposal he sponsored "a great first step for citizens of this state to personally be able to protect themselves."
Democrats who opposed the measure said there was no reason to change current law.
"The majority of the public in Wisconsin is not banging down our door insisting that we pass this law," said Rep. Donna Seidel, D-Wausau.

It would be more accurate if you said, Hey, Chicago, keep putting those dems in office.
Chicago is certainly a huge part of the equation. However, the downstate Democrats, from more or less rural areas like my hometown of Clinton, have culpability, too. The modern Democratic party is the idealogical anti-thesis of these people (blood lust support for abortion, seizure of guns, radical homosexual agenda, etc.) And yet they continued to vote for The Party of Truman - not realizing old Harry S. had been dead for decades. As a result, we’ve got a state firmly in the hands of socialists like Emil Jones, Michael Madigan and Rahm Emanuel.
