I’m not a Perry fan and would rate him as somewhat of a RINO but certainly not as much as Romney or Huntsman and friends.
There you have it. Bilderburger endorsed and now the media are running with it. End of Romney.......
The media will at least try to eviscerate any Republican. The only question is whether they do it before the nomination, or wait until after like McCain, the MSM's favorite Republican in 2008. Their 2012 favorite has been Romney, but Huntsman has been getting a lot of longing glances from the media recently.
ROFLOL! Great descriptor, smoothsailing. :)
I agree that this commentary is good - especially with regard to the grasp of the appeal of Michele Bachmann to Middle American Tea Party conservatives.
Yet another (apparently) libertarian columnist who seems incapable of writing a column on a completely different subject without the obligatory attack on George W. Bush. Compared to the track record of our current president, I'm not ready to declare the Bush presidency "disastrous." The two most common complaints against Bush are the economy and the Iraq War. I call the Iraq War a success, based on the fact that Iraq is on its way towards being the only stable Islamic Democracy in the ME, and I believe that Saddam Hussein would certainly have developed nuclear weapons by now. I concede that the economy took a hit in the final year of the Bush presidency, but I blame the Democratic Congress as much as the president. And the policies of the current administration have exacerbated the problem.
I am far less concerned about Huntsman today. He sticks his foot in it every time he makes a public statement, and today’s revelation about all of the campaign contributions to Harry Reid is harder to explain than taking that job with the Obama Administration. I think he will flame out very quickly.
After the disastrous Bush years, the country does not want another Texas Republican in the White House
After the disastrous Obama years, the country does not want another Black Democrat from Chicago in the White House.
Strange how you’re allowed to say one but not the other...
I agree, the media will always turn on the Republican, it’s just a matter of when. The smart and successful Republican candidate will run around, over, or through the media and connect directly with the voters.
Reagan had a knack for that and Palin has shown that ability as well.
Well said, the cheap shots at W have grown quite monotonous.
I think Reid actually endorsed Huntsman yesterday! They oughta run on the same ticket! :)
I think that some of the Palin bashing was gratuitous, but otherwise a good piece...
The MSM and Dem’s keep telling us that the GOP contenders are lame and boring; they’re whistling past the graveyard, trying to convince themselves and everybody else Obama will get a second term. They’re wrong and they’re desperate.
Agreed, I didn’t like it either.
The proper term is “Perry and Romney bashers”, as those who go after one generally go after the other...for similar reasons.
I don't trust the guy on immigration. His history as a Democrat that worked for Al Gore is problematic for me. This wasn't just 'youthful indiscretion'. Rick Perry ran as a Democrat and was elected (3 times) as a Democrat member of the Texas legislature. He had his conversion to the GOP at age 50. His history smacks of political opportunism, a trait inherent in most politicians, I know, but still a bit disconcerting to a political conservative choosing a candidate to vote for in the 2012 Republican presidential nomination primary. In my case, if Sarah Palin isn't on the ballot it could be Michell Bachmann. However, it won't be Rick Perry, no matter how many positive articles are written about the Texas governor.
Huntsman is a candy a## reach across the isle, go along to get along, THE PRESIDENT IS A NICE GUY, RINO! nuff said. We dont need a white Obama
Thanks, but to be fair, I can't take total credit. I got the idea for part of it from Jim as a matter of fact! :o)
Ron Paul and his flaming antiwar spam monkeys can Kiss my Ass!!
I wouldn’t call the Bush years disastrous........
