Casey Anthony's Mother Testifies the Web Searches for 'Chloroform' Were Hers
FoxNews.com ^ | June 23, 2011 | FoxNews/AP

Casey Anthony's mother testified Thursday she used the family's computer to search for suspicious items like "chloroform" -- potentially undercutting the prosecution's attempt to pin those searches on Anthony, who is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter.

Cindy Anthony told a jury for the first time Thursday that she used her home computer to look up "chloroform" and other search terms in March 2008 -- even though records show she was at work at the time of the searches, according to prosecutors.

Somethings fishy here. If ‘records show that she (Cindi Anthony, Casey’s mother) was at work at the time of the searches’ someone is lying. Either the records are wrong or Cindi Anthony is lying to save her daughter from the gas chamber or even in hopes of getting Casey acquitted, an unlikely outcome. I don’t believe that searching for ‘chloroform’ was benign. The only question is: who actually was doing those searches. I suspect it was Casey, not Cindi Anthony.

Lying to protect her daughter, when we all know it is a lie

No wonder Casey is so screwed up

She is Lying.... UNDER OATH!

The whole family is a bunch of liars. It’s one thing to be supportive of your accused child, but they have lied over and over. She should be put in jail for perjury. Period.

The whole family is one sick, disgusting family!!!

If they have records to prove she was at work at the time of the searches, they should pursue perjury charges against her. I've heard that she mouths the words "I love you" to her monster daughter in court. The whole damn family is a bunch of enablers. No wonder they raised a spoiled brat.

Imaging raising your hand and taking an oath "so help me God," and then lying. You would think she'd behave with a little dignity just to honor her granddaughter.

An old criminal defense attorney told me that he always put the mother of the defendant on the stand. The attorney never told the mother to lie. Invariably the mother would testified that junior was home in bed when the crime occured. The jury does not have to believe the mother.

Why did George and Cindi not report Caylee missing for the first 31 days ? IMHO, something is fishy with them - Casey is a fruit loop, but they don’t come across as legit.

She enabled Casey for years, and the result is one adorable dead little girl. Casey, if she gets off, will continue her sociopathic behavior and how Cindy will sleep at night I can’t imagine. The jury has to see through Cindy’s desperate attempt to save Casey from the death penalty. The look on Casey’s face...Mom is lying for me, saving my butt again. So when does Casey learn that behavior has consequences? Sickening.

So okay, a thread about this case.

As expected, I have an opinion and some thoughts.

Let us begin with my husband driving me nuts complaining about all the coverage on this case. Well yeah, but you can, just throwing it out there, just flip the channcel.

Dear Lord if this woman-Cindy Anthony- is lying, which Cheetahcat to whom I respond alleges, dear Lord, dear Lord, IS SHE NUTS?

Then I stop and think, only for a while. For I have a granddaughter exactly the age of precious little Kaylee....I have to hold back a sob just typing her name. My own granddaughter’s name is Kaitlyn....she’s the age Kaylee would be if she were alive. Last week Kaitlyn had her first dance recital.

Her mother (my daughter), her father, and the paternal relatives as well as me, all attended. She was on stage for maybe a minute and a half but all day there was prep what with an Aunt curling her hair, the makeup, the pictures, the video I surreptitiously shot from my seat that they said not to that they may sell a “professional” video....heh.

And I think of Cindy Anthony and how much she obviously loved her little granddaughter. She’ll never go to a dance recital, she’ll never video an illegal blurry tape of little Kaylee making mistakes all over the stage.

Now she’s about to lose her daughter, with a high liklihood of death.

I consider my own daughter, who I love, of course. And I ponder...well how would I feel if she killed precious Kaitlyn? More depply, how would I feel that after losing Kaitlyn I would lose my daughter and then have no one?

Well yeah I have a husband but I have one daughter and one grandchild, not that this would matter to the crime but I’m trying to wrap my mind around what those grandparents would be feeling.

I would imagine that I’d be horrified that my daughter would kill her own child and it looks like, sad to say, that Casey very deliberately planned the murder of that precious child, dear Lord.

Still....watching my daughter go via needle would not bring my Kaitlyn back. Watching my daughter die would be TWO deaths I’d have to grieve. I’m not at all sure my heart could stand the heartbreak.

Thus on some level I get how Cindy Anthony must be so conflicted. But would I lie on the stand for my daughter?

Because I do also believe Cindy Anthony is lying. My understanding is that there were other searches for types of murder, including strangulation and others.

Because Casey, a real dim bulb folks, dimmer than one of those newfangled lightbulbs what don’t provide light....she really wanted Kaylee dead and this is why the prosecutor is going after the death penalty.

If a mother deliberately and purposefully planning the death of her innocent child isn’t reason enough for a death penalty, than nothing else is.

Which brings us to Cindy Anthony and now she might well have to watch her daughter get the death needle and I hurt for her.

I remember when the Anthonys first picked up their car from the towyard. They were all over the TV complaining about the smell, saying it smelled like something died in that car.

Within a week they were pooh-poohing that somebody died in the car mantra, saying it was probably just a rotton pizza. I knew then that a lawyer got a hold of the Anthonys and told them they were driving the death needle in to their daughter’s arm with that kind of thing.

I am not surprised that Cindy Anthony is trying to save her daughter. I think her lying on the stand is a very dumb, dumb thing for her to do. What, does she want to go to jail and join her daughter? What good would that do?

Casey Anthony....dear Lord....I will pray for that piece of self-centered nothingness.

I think Cindy Anthony had a precious granddaughter that she adored and can’t imagine how such a horrible scenario that she might well have been killed by her own mother is to try to accept.

Maybe she just doesn’t want to believe her daughter did it but I think she knows better.

Just a real tragedy for everyone. Even dumbbell Casey, did she really think she would get away with this?

Just curious.

The defense prosecution strategy seems to be to try to pin the blame for Casey’s actions on prior sexual abuse by her father and brother.

Let’s look at this scenario.

Your daughter has already thrown her daughter under the bus, quite literally. She is now trying to throw your husband and son under there too.

Would you assist her in this? I wouldn’t.

That is where the daughter gets it from. I don’t know why some parents defend their kids. That’s why the daugher is all messed up to begin with. I don’t believe the mother for a second. This is no surprise to me that the mother is doing this. This is how Casey got away with stonewalling the police for such a long time, it seems that the parents were covering for her back then. It’s just the same old thing.

Here is my understanding of that 31 day time frame:

Casey was absent and estranged from her parents during that time because Grandma accused her of being an unfit mother and threatened to take custody of Caylee. Grandma didn't know her brat daughter was off getting a tattoo, partying, and entering hot body contests. When she did reach her on the phone, Grandma kept asking to see Caylee but was told she was at a friend's house, sleeping, with the sitter, etc., etc.

Finally after 31 days Casey confessed to her mother that the kid had been missing the whole time, that the nanny kidnapped her, and that she hadn't even notified the police. After learning this information Grandma hunted down the missing car, smelled the dead body smell, and made the infamous 911 call.
