Casey Anthony's Mother Testifies the Web Searches for 'Chloroform' Were Hers

Casey Anthony's mother testified Thursday she used the family's computer to search for suspicious items like "chloroform" -- potentially undercutting the prosecution's attempt to pin those searches on Anthony, who is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter.

Cindy Anthony told a jury for the first time Thursday that she used her home computer to look up "chloroform" and other search terms in March 2008 -- even though records show she was at work at the time of the searches, according to prosecutors.

Cindy Anthony may very well have begun a search on chloroform for some reason. As a nurse, it’s unlikely that she misspelled it as ‘chloraform’.

So - if Cindy and Casey were sharing a computer - perhaps Cindy left a search page open and Casey took it from there....OR CONVERSELY - Casey left the page open and Cindy was curious. Hard to believe that Cindy made 84 inquiries.

Prosecution’s cross examination picked Cindy apart by asking “Did you enter the search inquiry on HOW TO MAKE CHLOROFORM?” She would not give a straight answer.

“She said her time sheet from her job as a nurse might not have reflected that she was home because she was a salaried employee and required to enter hour hours whether she worked or not.

“If those computer entries were made, then I made them,” she said. “I was home. I know I took some hours off. During that week was Casey's birthday and my anniversary and I did go home early a couple days that week,” she said. “The only thing that triggers that day for me is those computer entries”

So she was at work eh? Looks like she wasn't. Not exactly punching a time clock is she?

You people have her convicted and executed already. Maybe you should look at FACTS. Maybe you should consider “reasonable doubt” in ONE jurors mind and not be so sure of a conviction.

The venom that comes out in this forum about this case is just amazing. Maybe it was just an accident that they tried to keep from Cindy. Maybe it was negligence by gramps. You people don't know. You just jump on whatever Shep Smith or Nancy Grace says.

Her reality is that not only has she lost a grandchild, she might lose a daughter via the death penalty. It's really an attempt to influence the jury.

I dont believe Cindy for a nanosecond, but also dont see why this matters much. The forensics people found high levels of chloroform in the trunk of Casey’s car. That’s a lot more incriminating than a google search.

Doubt is hard to come by in this case. You have a dead child....with tape on her face....in a plastic bag...not far from home.....and a flippy mother who is a little nuts.

Had she been reported missing by her mom "immediately"....then there would be doubt.

Apparently,the mother told investigators back in 2009 that she did those searches but the prosecution left out that info in their Presentation. That testimony should not have been left out.

Here is my understanding of that 31 day time frame:

Casey was absent and estranged from her parents during that time because Grandma accused her of being an unfit mother and threatened to take custody of Caylee. Grandma didn't know her brat daughter was off getting a tattoo, partying, and entering hot body contests. When she did reach her on the phone, Grandma kept asking to see Caylee but was told she was at a friend's house, sleeping, with the sitter, etc., etc.

Finally after 31 days Casey confessed to her mother that the kid had been missing the whole time, that the nanny kidnapped her, and that she hadn't even notified the police. After learning this information Grandma hunted down the missing car, smelled the dead body smell, and made the infamous 911 call.

Right, so George (grandpa) is kind of secondary in the picture, like he was just watching tv or something. Seems there's no direct evidence of Casey committing a murder, and grandma does not know who the actual culprit is, like the defense that was alluded to in the opening statement. If grandpa is the killer, he certainly would be smart to keep grandma in the dark and let her discover the missing child and make the initial report, since the one who reports would be a prime suspect, and grandma would be a completely truthful person going to bat for him. When the killer does their coverup, they never know all the details of the police investigation, i.e., how well their coverup actually is working, since if they did not have extensive LE experience they would be unsure just how to prepare their fake evidence. It's very hard to really know who's the culprit with Casey's wacky personality, which also makes her the perfect one to take the fall if she didn't do it. Something doesn't smell right to me, I think it could be almost any of them who actually did it or maybe it was an accident.

It is very hard to do a search from a computer in your home when records from your work say that you were at work and people can put you at work.

However, Casey didn’t work and had plenty of time to do computer searches at home.

Doubt on this would be unreasonable.

DNA on Caylee has already been proven to not be a family member.

I believe the DNA found was one of the examiners. That’s why anyone that has handled evidence is entered into the database.

I was answering a question insinuating parentage of Caylee. I listened the other day and the DNA of Caylee proved not to be George or Lee.

They didn’t say who it was though. Irrelevant, I guess.
