Can someone explain why it took a constitutional amendment to institute a national prohibition on alcohol but a mere act of Congress to outlaw marihuana? Why can’t we leave it to the individual states to decide, while retaining a federal prohibition on interstate commerce in marijuana.

I sure can. It’s because the Constitution placed limits on the Feds at one time.
Now as you know the commerce clause has been butchered.
I think Thomas may be the only justice who really gets it.
