Al Gore War on Children
The Atlas Society - The Center for Objectivism ^ | June 22, 2011 | Edward Hudgins

I have long argued that the morally twisted beliefs of many environmentalists imply that humans are pollution and that the Earth would be better without us.

Al Gore, the Guru of Gaia, now seems to agree with this assessment and comes down clearly against the human race.

In an interview the former vice president argued that one way to reduce the carbon emissions that he claims are causing climate change is “to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women.” Specifically, “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.” Gore states that, “You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families.”

What size families individuals choose to have is a very personal and private matter. In pursuit of their own happiness, individuals must balance their various goals in life concerning careers, family, and the like.

But Gore has a different balance in mind. He endorses smaller families so that “the population [can begin] … to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices” with the goal of reducing carbon emissions. Note “societies” making decisions, not individuals.

Gore’s point here is not just that education, family planning options, and lower infant morality are good things. It’s that individuals should take account of the impact of the children they might choose to have on the environment because children and humans in general are a burden on the planet.

Here is the stark essence of how Gore and his co-religionists view the world. The environment is not material to be used to support human life and comfort, to be utilized by…

If we follow his thinking and example he sets... I guess you would deceptively enlarge your nasty lil’ footprint by having multiple thousand sq. ft. homes, driving large SUVs, flying excessive air miles consuming millions of gallons of dirty jet fuel, consuming large amounts of food, cheating on your wife and children, cheer on the abortion of millions of innocents... etc. etc. we all know the reports. Tsunami level hypocrisy.

He needs to sterilize his children and grandchildren. Lead by example.

Al, the liar, Gore needs to take care of his own family instead of promoting himself.

In the war on children, on pollution, and against the human race, Gore and those of his ilk are chicken hawks.

Thanks guys! I'm for individuals making their own choices about families. But it boggles my mind that those who long for the joys of having children, of holding them in their arms, of seeing their smiles, of raising them to be mature, responsible adults who love their own lives, for such individuals to hold back because those children are bad for the environment, what warped thinking and warped values.

Hey, I was with you up to that point. Can we get the greedy corporations and other Fat Cats who won life's lottery to pay for that?

Unfortunately, I can't go along with this part: Oh, Well

... cheating on your wife and children, cheer on the abortion of millions of innocents... etc. etc. we all know the reports. Tsunami level hypocrisy.

What can you expect from the likes of Al Gore? He is one big stain on the underpants of life.

What pretty little babies - are they twins? I assume so, but are they identical? They look like they could be fraternal twins.

Congratulations. Air pollution never looked so good!

Yes, fraternal twins, born in January, five months old in the photo! And here is the moral point:

The environment and this planet are of no intrinsic value. If there were no humans here, we could not speak of anything of being "of value" because to have values you need a valuer. And only we humans can make choices, that is, can value.

The standard of value is our own survival, happiness, and well being. And major parts of my happiness and well being are these beautiful girls! I want to use all the resources necessary--food, electricity, you name it--to raise them. And if #@$%&@ eco-cultists have a problem with that, let them go back to nature, walk into a forest, refuse to eat, shrivel up and, become part of it.
