Passage of the bill is imminent. That it was a GOP member having facilitated the bill into law makes it all the more galling.

Whatever happens, let’s let them know what we think:

The compromises they’re making today are pretty much a sign that it’s a done deal unless someone backs out at the last minute. Don’t see that happening.

"That's not a defeatist attitude wrapped in dogmatism, but rather the depressing voice of pragmatism."

No, basically that's the depressing voice of cowardice.

Obama is afraid to come right out for gay marriage. He is scared that black support will erode if he does.

The question is why are there any GOP state senators
in favor of destroying society?

Hasn’t this been the news for over a week now? I think if they had the votes, it would have passed by now.

Has anyone read the religious “exemptions?” You apparently have to be a “religious corporation” to be exempt from recognizing this abominable construct. And the exemptions amendment is a whole, any part of it struck down by an activist judge strikes ALL of it down.

We’re told that gays are only 2 to 4 % of the population. How many of that small percentage want to get married?

I’m not in favor of the bill, but I can’t believe it will have that much of an impact on society in general.
