Im wondering why the president of MIT would know anything about manufacturing...
a.) She stayed at a Holiday Inn Expressb.) She read a book on "Lean Six Sigma"

And that's the thing, isn't it? It would be better for the government to announce that it is spending $500M to get out of the way of U.S. manufacturing. Not spending anything would be best.

This guy cannot spend $1 without it being appropriated from the U.S. Congress.

AMP will be co-chaired by Susan Hockfield, president of MIT -
AND WHAT, EXACTLY, DOES THIS HOCKFIELD BABE KNOW ABOUT U.S. MANUFACTURING?

Here's what happened the last time manufacturing was re-invented by government:

Obama Pledges $500 Million To Reinvent U.S. Manufacturing
Obama reminds me of a three-year-old I saw when I was in first grade. My friend and I were walking to the park to play on the slides. We passed a little kid who was sitting in the dirt holding a dead robin by the lower beak and pouring water down its throat from a cup. We asked him what he thought he was doing. He said he was going to make the dead bird come back to life. We laughed at him and said, "Hey, the water's not going to do anything. The bird is already dead!" He remained unconvinced and kept pouring.

The “American Century” to which Zero refers owed much to inexpensive, domestic energy. Without that ingredient we’re just treading water.

Reinvent manufacturing?
Unification of govt and business?
What a brilliant idea.
Why didn't somebody think of this before?
What are we going to call this “NEW” idea of unification of govt and business?
Oh! I’ve got an idea for a really catchy name that I bet will catch on.
Let's call it National Socialism, Nazism, or just Nazi for short.
Yeaaaaaaaa!

If they would cut taxes at the same rate they throw money around, and stay the hell out of the way of Capitalism, manufacturing and jobs would take care of themselves.

He sure seems to be introducing a lot of crap lately for optics. Someone needs to step up and tell him to tighten his belt and stop being so thrifty with the people’s money.

They do realize that Caterpillar alone -- hardly a "bleeding edge" company -- spent almost four times this amount on R&D all by itself last year alone, right?
And they spent EIGHTEEN times this amount on wages during the same time?
Smells like a payoff to some connected friends.
