In the 90s, HUD sued my community to force us to accept “scatter site” housing.

This was a Henry Cisneros program.

Now Section 8 housing will happen everywhere due to the availability of government owned foreclosed housing.

At least you had a chance to fight. Now Section 8 will suddenly appear without notice.

Welcome to "Obamanation". It is definitely intentional. To object is racism. They will not accept any other reasonable explanation.

“The purpose of Section 8 is to import Democrat voters into non-Democrat areas and swamp out their votes.’

You may be right. But I also believe the other purpose of Section 8 is to make a select few slumlord cronies of the pols with their connections richer at taxpayer expense. Anyone gaming the system of handouts for their own benefit (as in the slumlords) is as much to blame with the system as those who live in the slums getting their handout. Both are getting taxpayer handouts and both really pxss me off.

I much prefer living in a country where everyone has opportunity and wherewithal, and not where only a select few have billions and the rest have nothing. At my age I’m going to be living with the majority and not where the select few have it all at my expense.

What’s your bet? Is it the ideology and political beliefs of the Section 8 profiteer? Per the article he has been buying foreclosed homes and then renting them out and subsidized by sucking on the taxpayer teats of Section 8?

He’s no conservative regardless of what he claims to be. He’s a profiteering socialist.

Ultimately resistance collapsed here in Milford when the local clergy issued a statement that it was racist to oppose scatter site housing.

On the bright side, we mounted a mini tea Party revolt and took over the local Republican voting out all the RHINO Republicans. It was quite a fight.

The place will be trashed. No one ever washes a rental car before returning it.

"This is why the grassroots rebellion has to start at the municipal and county level. How to get good candidates to run at this level? I don’t know."

It can be a challenge to get good people. When decent people are willing to undertake campaigns, we need to support them. They need financial support to print literature and signs, and they need exposure to potential voters. Lots of legwork involved, and plenty of opportunities to help.

And how long can that game last?

As long as we put up with it.

A fellow I know has a recurring fantasy, to wit: To take one of those “thumper music” vehicles, and drive it through a ghetto neighborhood...playing bagpipe CDs.

(One can dream, I guess....)

Or as a friend of mine once said, "Nothing goes over bumps like a rental car!"

Don't have a walk-in closet or enough shoes to fill one, but then again, I have taxes to pay.

It's really damn fine white of you to pay your taxes so she can have those shoes and the closet to put them in. Hey, wait. I'm paying for that too! When do we get the thank you notes?

Anyone know how many Section 8 homes there are in the neighborhoods the members of Congress live in?

Uh, leave out Charley Rangel.

I retaliated against a neighbor's rap with Beethoven's Ninth.

May the best speakers win!

You were from conservative, God-fearing stock that made you work and earn.

They are given an existence by our sweat and toil to fulfill the dream of “equality by theft” and allow bastard, moronic leeches breed more children on our dime.

This happened in a town near me, moving Section 8 people into regular neighborhoods, our friends packed up and left, citing gangs, drugs and the usual fun of unemployed Amish and Aztecs.

She’s getting over a thousand bucks a month in OUR money for her housing voucher to support her, her daughter, and her daughter’s spawn, plus two dogs...and she’s being super-picky about the houses she wants. Naw, she can’t take that grand and spend it on a house that looks like something SHE MIGHT ACTUALLY LIVE IN IF SHE SPENT HER OWN MONEY, heeeelll naw. She gonna get her a house with a BIG closet, in a rich neighborhood, yo!

These are Obama voters, folks. These are the looters. These are the enemy.

Pretty much. I used to WORK for Section 8 as a clerk in one of the larger upstate NY city housing authorities. The things I saw would give everyone on FR a stroke!

There was a special effort to move Section 8 recipients out to certain “desirable, affluent” areas of the suburbs with the misguided thinking that it would help the subsidy recipients act more like productive citizens.

I noticed that a few certain areas had been “policied out” as “not for use by Section 8 recipients” within these affluent areas (yes there were MAPS). Come to find out the areas which were off limits to the Section 8 recipients within these affluent areas, were, you guessed it, the areas where the DIRECTORS OF THE SECTION 8 PROGRAM LIVED!!

I pointed this out and soon after I left as a quasi whistleblower (worked there from 1989-1998). For two years after I left working for the local housing authority, they blackballed me from getting another job. I had to hire an agency to find out what they were doing (nothing really illegal, but refusing to return calls by prospective employers and acting “dodgy” on the phone, etc)

I had to change my entire career path (during the whole time I was a divorced mom with two children and who received zero child support) so the liberals only care about single moms if you AREN’T willing to work and weren’t married to the baby daddy.

At the time I also had a side paper route and four years before I left the housing authority job, I eventually became an “evil” landlord by default when moving to a nicer area for a better school district. This instantly made me an “enemy” at work.

If anyone has any liberal leanings and half a brain, they need only work for one of these agencies to see how the dregs of humanity cash in as parasites on the backs of the working family. It will cure them instantly of the mental disease called liberalism.

Don’t complain at least she is an American. Remember Aunt Zetuni, Obama’s aunt, who came all the way from Kenya ILLEGALLY and was living in subsidized housing in Boston?

So glad that people are starting to figure this out. The Democrats are doing world-wide gerrymandering whether they are moving people across city or state lines or moving people across national boundries in order to swamp out Republican voters. I believe that they did this to the Republican voting areas around Los Angeles and they are now turning Texas to a new Mexican paradise. We have to catch on to this and spread the word around fast while we can. The Dems are ruthless and take no prisoners. We cannot be sensitive about talking about these subjects.
