Gay Marriage- A Milestone
Though there was unnecessary secrecy in the negotiations, Gov. Andrew Cuomo made a determined effort to achieve marriage equality in New York. He shares credit with the four Republican state senators who bucked their party and threats from conservatives to do what they knew was right. State Senators James Alesi, Roy McDonald, Mark Grisanti and Stephen Saland, all from upstate districts, deserve the support of their communities. They showed the kind of strength that is extremely hard to find in todays politics.
In drafting a compromise, however, Senator Saland and other Republicans insisted on language that carves out exceptions for religious institutions and not-for-profit corporations affiliated with those religious entities.
That provision allows those tax-exempt entities to refuse to marry a same-sex couple or to allow the use of their buildings or services for weddings or wedding parties. There was simply no need for these exemptions, since churches are protected under both the federal Constitution and New York law from being required to marry anyone against their beliefs. Equally troubling, an inseverability clause in the act appears to make it impossible for any court to invalidate part of the law without invalidating the whole law raising questions about what happens to couples during an appeal.

Not another penny goes from me to the GOP, either state or national, until Alesi, McDonald, Grisanti and Saland are gone.
A-friggin-men!!!
What about the 29 other Republicans who voted against it?
They need to help get rid of the a-holes who put this travesty into the end zone.
They're all trash, as far as I'm concerned. They'll sell their constituents out for a few thousand dollars in campaign funds.
Nothing is the same for me now.
YAY for state sanctioned butt secks!
Such a beautiful thing!

What must our Lord think of us?
What must He think...
A govt sponsored thing...didn’t they throw the Lord out of the State?
Why would He care about them now?
earlier I had received a GOP questionaire that i immediately pitched in the can. after reading your post i pulled it back out and answered their questions but said first priority is the purge of the RINOs on a federal and state level. no more $$ from me, i donate directly to my candidates of choice. i then put my thoughts on the current crop of GOP hopefuls, gave a thumbs up for Palin, Cain, and a huge bold lettered shout out to Allen West.
i didnt include any donation but put it back in the self adressed bulk mail envelope and will drop it off in tomorrow mail. i am sure nobody will read it but at least its costing them .40 or so.
And let’s save their names, “State Senators James Alesi, Roy McDonald, Mark Grisanti and Stephen Saland” in our personal file, and use that money to support whoever runs against them in the primaries.
The GOP and their stupid questionaires. What a joke. As if they give two excrements.
I am devastated by this.
Yes. Thank you. Thank you. That is a positive suggestion.
I don't think He's thinking chris...He's acting by turning His back on this nation which has turned it's back on Him...and letting men have their own way to their own destruction.... "There is a time for everything under heaven".......
“What about the 29 other Republicans who voted against it?”
Folks can use the money they saved by not contributing to the GOP, and give it to a couple of them directly when their election comes up.
>> What about the 29 other Republicans who voted against it?
A compelling argument they must have made to their fellow turncoats. /s
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

The next stop I predict on this train ride to disaster is polygamy. The gays will want to have multiple partners and see no reason why it should be penalized. The law was made for heterosexuals they will argue.
I want to take the occasion of your post to say the follwing.
I believe that government is the foulest creation of mankind.
I mean that in the most serious sense. It is from government that the absolute worst of mankind comes. It is from man’s desire to control other men that spawns all wars, immorality, lust for power, and greed.
It is from government that spawns the ultimate expression of the Evil of mankind, Naziism. As long as government exists, it will steam toward that eventual, Evil end.
I have come to believe, rather recently in fact, that in order for man to survive, government cannot exist. Man cannot rule other men. He cannot, because he is corrupt. Only the Lord can rule man, in my belief, and only a man who allows The Lord in him can rule himself.
I believe that is the only way forward. Faith in the Lord, and allowing the Lord to rule one’s life, and living accordingly. Allowing other men to rule us has brought us to The Fall. Sadly, there may be no way to achieve this ideal, and since I believe that man should not attempt to rule other men, I simply try to achive this within my own life, and no one else’s.
I do not listen to the law, or any other man. I walk through life on my own path, and I have made many errors. However, I know the difference between Right and Wrong, because He tells me the difference. It is as clear as day to anyone who will listen.
Perhaps I have gone insane, I just don’t know, it’s hard to determine the definition at times, because I feel I live in an insane world. But by my definition of insanity, I have not.
Insanity is seeing Good in that which is Evil, and seeing Evil in that which is Good.
What has happened in New York is insanity. It was brought about by those who do not believe in Jesus Christ, and I will never recognize what they have done.
God Help Us All.
