Adam Nagorney was contemptuous both of that idea and of the straight consensus in America. As far as he's concerned, the gays are on their game and will win it all.
“And lets save their names, State Senators James Alesi, Roy McDonald, Mark Grisanti and Stephen Saland in our personal file, and use that money to support whoever runs against them in the primaries.”

Agreed! I am so saddened by my Sen ( McDonald). He’ll never get my vote again. Glad that they are in for only 2 yr terms, and that he does..get a primary challenge!
I hope McDonald gets a strong social conservative challenger. McDonald is also a pro-abort.
“Put the issue to the People of New York!
Referendum!!!! “
We don’t have referendums in NYS, but I wonder how we can get that changed. Even the liberal CA had a referendum, where same-sex “marriage” was defeated.
Charlie Rose's guests last night featured Toobin, Nagorney, and some young gay-looking guy from the NYT (yeah, I know that doesn't narrow it down a lot). They all agreed that Prop 8 is toast -- AJ Anthony Kennedy already signaled he's bought the lie and drunk the poisoned chalice of "essentialism" making gay-superordinating-privileges (which they call "gay rights"), i.e. gay political money, the law of the land.
Evan Wolfson, Lambda Legal, and the ACLU, all in all about 1000 homosexual attorneys, are attacking the People with 14A arguments just like those the civil-rights lawyers of 70 years ago used, viz., the People ain't s***, sign me up, Judge, and slap those people into line for me. I got rights.
Sidebar: Nugget turned up in metasearch.
AJ Stevens's famous (because heralded by the homosexual lobby) dissent in the 1986 sodomy-law case, Bowers vs. Hardwick, which upheld Georgia's sodomy law, was actually written by a lesbian clerk working for Stevens, a hardcore movement lesbian from Stanford.
Imagine the reaction if CJ Burger's concurring opinion had been written by a double-degree divinities grad from Regis College, clerking for Burger. Hell wouldn't have held the outrage of the Left.
And btw, the counsel for the queer side in that one was Laurence Tribe of Harvard Law School.
