Hear hear!

Those insisting on the genetic inferiority of blacks - have you seen any studies that had a good control group?

That control group would have to be a sizeable group of black children raised in “white” families with no “cultural sensitivity” to their “blackness”. IE, raised as “white” kids in a “white” culture.

That would be a shame, but if things continue I don’t doubt it.

My 40+ years experience in education suggests it isn’t so much black kids are “discouraged” from reading is that more than half of them just can not read, period. Their ancestors never developed a written language so it is somewhat presumptuous to believe the people of a geographical area, with relatively pure genetic lines, where written language was never developed, can hit the ground running and pick up all the requisite anatomical necessities in a few generations.

Pardon me. That is purely the most STUPID post of the day - the virtual EPITOME of what is wrong in modern education.
And I'm not trying to be insulting - note that I did not call you stupid, just your post.

Your veiwpoint belongs on, well, the View

What you say about blacks never developing a written language makes sense but it does not apply to all of them. We have Clarence Thomas, Condalisa Rice, Walter Williams and others who don't fit that mold. Our nephew and his wife adopted a black boy directly from Africa, they saw him there as an infant and waited 2 years to get him. He is as black as a lump of coal, no white blood, and he is brilliant. At about 10/11 years old he devours books, I am told. People like him should have raised the intelligence level of the tribe, apparently there weren't enough of them.

This black boy lives in Arlington Texas BTW.

I agree with you, cannot think. I’m white. My wife and I adopted six black kids from Ethiopia. We raised them as we had been raised, that is, as Americans. All have done very well, including being straight A students in high school.
When our three youngest went to high school they were appaled at the ignorance, stupidity and racism exhibited by the typical black student.

believe in cultural inferiority

Ditto that.

One of the things I looked for when Mrs WBill and I were looking at public schools (and, frankly, a community to live in), was people with the same values as me.

I didn't care what the people looked like, so long as there were two parents in the house, they're interested in raising their kids, valued hard work, education, and so on.

I wound up in a mostly white community (some here on FR would call it "obvious", I'd imagine). The school is one of the best in the region. Not much in the way of crime, I still lock the doors out of habit, but many of my neighbors don't bother. The neighbors that I've talked to are mostly small business owners, or work in the medical field. Lots of military in the area, as well.

And, to prove your point, I've attended a number of school functions... Regardless of race, Mom AND Dad show up ... not just grandma, with her daughter's 5 kids by 5 separate baby daddies. IMHO, people rise to the expectations that are set.

The place isn't ideal, there's problems just like anyplace else. But it's a damn sight better than the city that I moved out of.

Look up what Darwin had to say about race. The leftists ignore it and focus on Darwin vs. religion.

True story

I went to high school with a guy that was obviously some kind of mathematical genius. He could simply look at a geometrical shape and tell you how you would compute lengths. Even the teachers couldn't believe the way he was able to grasp mathematical concepts.

I ran into him about ten years later. He was working at a fried chicken restaurant.

Why did he do nothing with his life? He was Hispanic, and in the STRICT Hispanic culture, there is a belied that if you even want to achieve more than your father, it is an INSULT to your father. When this guy graduated the teachers BEGGED his mother to let him go to college. Said based on his math abilities they could get him a scholarship. Mom said no. No way she would to that to his father.

Madness.

One of the revelations in the “Dark Side of Darwin” was that he was a fierce racist,
and used his theory to justify and support that racism.

Also, the main reason that he came up with his theory was to replace or “kill” God. It is no accident that when communists take over a country, they do not teach the people the benefits of communism, they teach them evolutionary theory and atheism. Then all you have left as your “higher power” is The State.

It is much like acting surprised your Beagle does not retrieve ducks well or your Chihuahua is not a pointer.

I like your analogy.

He’s just plain wrong. There were several written systems developed in Africa; Meroitic and Ge’ez were both developed in Africa.
I agree with the concept of cultural inferiority. The “Urban underclass” culture is a complete disaster in this country.

I'll take Darwin seriously when someone can use his theories to explain while I, and every other male, still have nipples, yet apparently have lost our tails due to none use.

Until then I shall continue to hold his ideas in the “close but not cigar” category.

Where is Bernhard Goetz when you need him?
I watched a documentary about him recently. He was so wrong for turning himself in. They would never have found him and he would still be out there hanging in the air, a big question for all the "wild ones" who want to "play with the public".

After turning himself in he was also successfully "flakified" by the media, who figured out a way to spin the story to put him in the wrong.

It would have been so much better if that case were still a mystery.
