Medical secret police calling doctors

The federal government is conducting a stealth survey, calling up doctors and lying to them, seeking a way to catch doctors turning down Medicare and Medicaid patients, now that ObamaCare will be vastly expanding the number of people seeking treatment but paying with government programs that pay substantially less than private insurance. But don't worry, the new secret police promise that they will keep the data produced by their deceptive tactics confidential.

Having expanded demand without addressing the supply of doctors, and paying less for that expanded demand than market prices, the Obama administration needs a fall guy, and doctors fit the bill.

Eleven percent of the doctors will be called a third time. The callers will identify themselves as calling "on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services." They will ask whether the doctors accept private insurance, Medicaid or Medicare, and whether they take "self-pay patients." The study will note any discrepancies between those answers and the ones given to mystery shoppers.

Can you say, "Gotcha!"

I think it might be an easy work-around. Just tell anyone calling in that they will have to come in and fill out an "patient application", which included complete medical history and background information, which is "standard operating procedure" and if approved they will be called back and given an appointment time.

The "intellectual level" of these government "secret shoppers" will probably be below the minimum required to "fake" such documents consistently, and, will leave a paper trail as to previous doctors and source phone numbers.

Or, just say, "we're not taking any new patients without a referral...have a nice day."

Things like this should be at Boehner's "summit" with zer0, when discussing more spending versus higher debt limit. The costs associated with Doctor snitches is relevant to the taxpayer public. Give the govt an inch (unconstitutional mandate for healthcare) and they take a million miles (hiring thousands of snitches).

Now, now. The feds are saying they won’t id any doctor. They are just doing this for informational purposes, blah, blah, blah.
I can guarantee you that holder’s DOJ will be going after the docs full bore as soon as they get a couple of them not kowtowing to the feds. Need to make an example out of them, don’tcha know.
