There is more and more tyranny over the good people.

Obama is not allowing the ATF head to talk to Congress.

This is HUGE.

Not that I disbelieve you, but where did you hear this?

News reports last week had Melson resigning “soon”, but then other reports surfaced that he was not going to be the fall guy.

Do you have any updates on this? I want to know when to get the popcorn ready to watch the fireworks, cause it sounds like it’s going to be a really big shue.

"Melson has been invited to appear on Capitol Hill, but has not yet been granted permission from the Justice Department to do so. "

How about a contempt of Congress citation, accompanied by indefinite jail time and fines against the individual(s) who signed the termination memo. Then work thru the chaff of the underlings to get to the top of who ordered this be done?

They (Mexico) have Capital Crimes that are connected with Fast & Furious.

Huh? Explain to me how then can be even such a concept as "a capital crime", in a nation with no death penalty? The very term means a crime punishable by death...

The example to use is Texas. For Capital Felony, we have either the death penaly or life with out parole.

Capital Felony [Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 12.31]
If the individual is found guilty and the state seeks the death penalty:
• Imprisonment in the institutional division for life without the possibility of parole, or
• Death
If the individual is found guilty and the state does not seek the death penalty:
• Imprisonment in the institutional division for life without the possibility of parole
• However, a certified juvenile is no longer eligible for life without parole.

)*Not everyone convicted of Capital Murder in Texas gets Death Row.

True, but I stand by my point. *MEXICO* doesn't have a death penalty. Thus there can be *no* 'capital cases' within Mexico's legal jurisdiction, which was what was implied. Utterly impossible...

Sorry, I missed that part. Hopefully something good will come of this.

I could not find the classifications of Homicide in Mexico through various search engines.

I do have Black's Law Dictionary (hard copy cir 1990) that states:
"Capital case or crime. One in or for which death penalty may, but need not necessarily, be imposed".

When SCOTUS abolished the Death Penalty in Furman v. Georgia, 408 U.S. 153 (1972), Texas did not have life with out parole in the penal code thus those on Death Row were paroled after X number of years served. Life With Out Parole was added to the Penal Code for Capital Murder though the death penalty was abolished by the supremes.

See: Henry Lee Lucas.

*Life With Out Parole was later changed to 60 years minimum.

When Mexico abolished the death penalty, did they abolish the crime classification? If so, what term replaced it?

In essence, they did so, whether 'officially', or not. Your Black's Law Dictionary is correct. A capital case is one where the death penalty *may* be imposed, whether or not it actually is. Absent a death penalty to impose, then there cannot, by definition, be a 'capital case' which was my point all along...

The DOJ having to give Melson ‘permission’ to testify especially if it is true that he refuses to resign or be ‘the fall guy’ is grounds enough for impeachment of the Obama Admin and Justice dept. for obstructing justice-for starters. And now a whistle blower being fired is appalling shocking news that should be breaking news with bell whistles and sirens.

Well, I dunno...

Seems to me I’d be reluctant to have much sympathy for someone who used to be on the inside of this agency...

Just because they blew the whistle on an operation approved by some very high-up on the food chain types, because it was an absolute pathetic use of time, money and resources, for at best questionable and very open to manipulation (results) data...And the excuse they gave us as to what they could do with it against already known drug cartel members was assinine...

Maybe I’d shake the guys hand for tooting the whistle on this one, but I still don’t trust them to be a WalMart Parking security guard...

A little off-topic, but I have three agencies I would love to eliminate with extreme prejudice if given the chance...

Obviously the BATFE, then the TSA, and last but not least, the IRS...Take those out without delay, and all the others ones that take up space can be eliminated in due time...

I just believe Americans as a whole would benefit tremendously from not having those particular agencies exist anymore...

Imagine the savings???

This is a repeat of the 90s. Vince Foster, Whitewater, Waco, ect. They all lead to the Lewinsy scandal and Impeachment. Was Clinton held accountable for his crimes?

This is why I keep telling people these hearings are a bad joke on US.

The democrats are having their own hearings today with Chuck Schumer (the ATF’s main supporter for Waco) and they are going to discuss more gun control.
