President Obama said Wednesday that the Republican position that they will not accept any tax increases as part of a deal to increase the debt limit is not "sustainable," adding, "everybody else has been willing to move off their maximalist position; they need to do the same."
Mr. Obama said Democrats have already taken on their "sacred cows" in the negotiations, including accepting spending cuts that hurt their constituencies and an openness to "look at" entitlement programs. Yet Republicans, he said, have refused to break from their opposition to tax increases for "corporate jet owners" and oil companies.
"If everybody else is willing to take on their sacred cows and do tough things in order to achieve the goal of real deficit reduction, then I think it would be hard for the Republicans to stand there and say that, 'The tax break for corporate jets is sufficiently important that we're not willing to come to the table and get a deal done,' or, 'We're so concerned about protecting oil and gas subsidies for oil companies that are making money hand over fist, that's the reason we're not going to come to a deal,'" he said. "I don't think that's a sustainable position."

my eyes are bleeding, perhaps I used too much duct tape to keep my head from exploding

Glad to see that he is going to stay in campaign mode rather than trying to actually solve a problem. This quote is particularly silly. “And that’s what I expect to happen this time,” he continued. “Call me naive, but my expectation is that leaders are going to lead.”
Actually, my expectation is also that leaders are going to lead, but we all know that The One does not live up to this expectation.

Look at? Here’s one. The Palestinians will look at peace once israel gives up everything.
And mr. President, just what is your plan since the Rats haven’t passed a budget in 2 years?
“Mr. Obama said Democrats have already taken on their “sacred cows” in the negotiations”
Show us the list of cuts...
Walt Disney needs to seriously remove the caricature of Pinocchio to that of the AnointedIdiot....seriously. =.=

Do you want a f*cking cookie?
Accepting spending cuts is not this bull of a messily 1 billion knocked off.
And on top of that your “openness” is a clear acknowledge that you are too damn stuck on spending that you had to be talked into MAYBE cutting those.
A overweight person can be open to exercising, but that doesn’t mean he is going to get his fat ass on a treadmill.
And we all know how much of a liar you are, so nothing short of real cuts passed and signed into law is remotely believable.
WHAT WE HAVE IS A SPENDING PROBLEM, NOT A REVENUE PROBLEM!!!!
The cause of this is the explosion in government spending, and the size of government under Obama, not a lack of revenue due to taxes being too low!

The real problem at hand is “Presidenshul”....and “Democrat”....really little more or less.
the only answer...is amputation...and the only question is.. what and how much.
I terms of jobs to amputation ratio...the EPA is the best amputation to star with at his point.
Ya, the spending side has exploded.
I saw a graph recently on this. I know a graph can over simplify, but, the graph showed that revenues to the federal gov’t had shrunk a bit in the past few years with the economic downturn. However, the spending side has spiked during the Obama presidency. This imbalance in revenue and expense is what the deficit is all about, and Obama has made that problem much much worse.
He shows his economic ignorance by talking of tax increases. History tells us that tax increases never increase tax revenue by the projected amount, because the taxes act as a drag on the economy. Unfortunately the liberals do not understand economics.
