Obama Campaign Signals Fundraising Fail
White House Dossier ^ | 06/29/11 | Keith Koffler

Posted on 06/29/2011 1:22:03 PM PDT by MissesBush

The Obama campaign appears to be signaling that its fundraising totals for the second quarter of the year – the first since President Obama announced for reelection – will not be as robust as the campaign would like.

In an email to campaign supporters today, President Obama unmistakably sought to downplay money.

We’re closing the books on the first fundraising quarter of the 2012 race at midnight tomorrow.

A lot of folks will be interpreting our numbers as a measure of this campaign’s support.

They’re not wrong, but they are wrong about why.

We measure our success not in dollars but in people — in the number of everyday Americans who’ve chosen to give whatever they can afford because they know we’ve got more work to do.*

Campaign officials revealed during the last week that they have set a target of raising $60 million for the quarter from at least 450,000 donors.

But even $60 million would not seem to be a very ambitious goal for Obama. He raised the same amount during the second quarter of 2007, just after he announced his 2008 campaign.

The campaign is hoping to raise up to $1 billion total for the 2012 election.

The email reiterates a call for donors to give at least $5 in order to be automatically entered into a raffle for dinner with Obama and Vice President Biden.

* Bolding is mine, not the campaign’s.

Don't worry, the Obama campaign will break out the fake straw donors, the foreign fundraisers hiding behind anonymous Visa gift cards and dead people to donate any day now. And there's always Hamas to help as well like in 2008.

I think Owebowmao will be very successful raising campaign contributions — for Republicans. He has done wonders for gun sales.

Many of his donors might sense he is in just too much trouble and opt to give their cash to Democrat House and Senate candidates instead. Obama is trying to head this off by asking them all to give the max amount now....which will mean nothing left for the House and Senate.

Pass the popcorn, this ought to be good.

Fear not, Obama supporters and destroyers of America, POTUS Obama will get all the cash he needs for his re-election campaign from George Soros, Gaddafi, Wright, Jones Farrakhan, The Taliban, The Syrians, The Iranians, Castro, Chavez, etc. will launder money to bankroll Obama for his re-electioncampaign.

Exactly why the WH gave Hamas $500 million. Some of it will come back to him as a donation. People here in the states are not willing to back or donate to a one term President. It’s a waste of money.

If he resigns today, I’ll be happy to write him a check for $100.

When he’s gotta pull out the (illegal) raffle for “dinner with Obo & Slo-Joe”, I’d say the money isn’t flowing in from Iran like it did during his 2008 campaign.

Some of his most loyal supporters — Jews, Wall Street and local brokers, laborers and blue collar workers — are having second thoughts. Only the hardliners — Marxists/socialists, welfare recipients, public school teachers, and union members — are sticking with him until the end...and may it be soon.

The propaganda machine is running wide open, especially for Hispanics, Blacks, and women. It's going to be a long, bitter election season, and, if we lose this one, IMHO there may not be another democratic election in the US in my lifetime.

That is a LOT of pre-paid cards.

If I was a dem I’d be desperately trying to hold onto the Senate.

How? I do not see how the math works out on that. What the Dems have to fear is that a President Palin (or Cain, etc.) gets elected with sufficient coattails to garner 60 seats for the Republicans. While this is extremely unlikely, I believe it is possible.

What is funny is how people say he has a billion to spend on the campaign and I tell them that is a goal , not money in the bank and I tell them it’s a goal he will fall very very short of.

I was just talking with my older kid this morning about the 0bama fundraising schemes and she was floored when I told her about the prepaid debit cards and the online donations from foreign countries, etc. When I mentioned the dead people voting she went from angry to sad because it kinda set in that our country is screwed unless we can restore some integrity to our electoral processes.

* voter I.D. with all votes cast on election day and in person.
* a valid U.S. social security number must be attached to every political donation regardless of the size of the donation.
* after every presidential election the voter rolls must be purged and voters must re-register with a valid I.D., a thumbprint and a sample signature to be matched against the one they sign at the polling place.

Voting should be harder so it’ll be of greater value to the participants, not easier to accommodate the losers that don’t even know what’s going on.

I got this email today also. I have never put my name on a list or donated or anything - how could they get my name and email address?

I think I looked at recovery.gov one time. Could they have gotten it that way?

I unsubscribed.
