We shouldn't assume just any GOP candidate will win this however. Once a name's attached to the "Republican" label, American voters will make further judgments as to who to vote for. We've got to get this right.

With negative news every day about Obama, how can there be 42% who would vote for him?

And... once the GOP candidate is identified, we will have to offset the damage that the MSM will undoubtedly do to his or her image and reputation, the FBI investigations into the background of anyone who has ever known or associated with him or her, the chance that he or she filed taxes a couple days late one year....whatever comes up to be used to smear the GOP hopeful.

"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds a generic Republican candidate earns support from 46% of Likely U.S. Voters, while the president picks up 42% of the vote." Ras, you've got your damn thumb on the scale again. Did the Thug In Chief threaten your family or something?

“Generic Republican Candidate”-that means even Romney can beat him.
Imagine what “Dynamic Conservative Candidate” would do to him. (although I don’t see one yet)

I’ve been saying that a lawn-chair could beat oWebama.
Of course an unnamed opponent isn’t destroyed, harrassed and lied about by the communications wing of the democrat party (that’s big media).

I don't think the Bamster will want a second term. His ego is to fragile to handle it.
Conservatives should be running against "Democrat policies." Forget running against Obama. We shouldn't even be calling it "Obamacare." It isn't and he doesn't. He didn't write or pass that legislation.

This poll may
overstate Obama'a strength. Real candidates tend to do better than generics and undecided voters generally break in favor of challengers against incumbents.
So if the election were held now, chances are strong that Obama loses by a significant margin. But one caveat: there's still a long long way to go.
To: MissesBush
A generic Republican candidate now holds a four-point lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 election matchup. It's the fifth week in a row that the GOP candidate has been ahead and the widest gap between the candidates to date. If they're polling Pawlenty they should at least use his name :)

This Admin. not breaking a sweat, yet. They can easily make up the 4% with double/triple voting, dead people, felons, illegals, union and Black Panther intimidation, and "found" boxes of ballots needed to "make the voting right" for them in close elections.

And national polls are pretty useless.
The only states that matter this time are Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Colorado.
