Considering that US drones are striking targets inside Pakistan, I consider this move as hardly surprising. In fact I’m more surprised that we had drones based in Pakistan at all. (I know... different drones; different mission profiles)

Remember how Obama was going to improve relations w all these countries?

No media attention on massive failures by Obama and Hilary. And losing Pakistan to China and Al Queda is major. But all Obama cared about was being able to say “Bin Laden” as his only success. All that should have been kept quiet.

“A coalition partner must do more than just express sympathy, a coalition partner must perform,” Bush said. “That means different things for different nations. Some nations don't want to contribute troops and we understand that. Other nations can contribute intelligence-sharing. ... But all nations, if they want to fight terror, just do something... Over time it's going to be important for nations to know they will be held accountable for inactivity,” he said. “You're either with us or against us in the fight against terror.”

They do know the consequences, right?

Is that a world wide movement calculated to isolate US?

I have the feeling that GWB would simply had kept a lid on the Bin Laden dirt nap so as not to damage our fragile relations with Pakistan.

No need to divulge details. One day, his head could have just magically appeared on a pike outside the U.S. Embassy in Kabul and we could have said "Gee, I wonder who could have put it there? Maybe there is a rift among Al Qaida."

The helicopter wreck in the compound could have made this a bit more complicated. But it would still pale in comparison with the lies told to get BO elected.

How much U.S. taxpayer money has the Obama Administration given to Pakistan?

How long do you think it will be before China and al Qaeda are given full access to the airport?

Didn’t candidate Obama promise to bomb Pakistan if they didn’t toe (tow?) the line?

(sorry about the spelling, I don’t know if the phrase deals with keepin within a line or pulling on a line, freeper input welcome)

The expression is "toe the line", as in getting ready for a race or track event. It has come to connote "toe the party line".

At least that has its meaning over most of my 85 years.

I was having flash backs to my days in the navy, “hey you, tow that line”

It occurred to me it may actually be related to running a race but I was confused, thanks for the input.

Shamsi is a sham you see. Pakistan needed a "get tough with America" proclamation as a way to save face after the raid on UBL.

We haven't used Shamsi for some time. BTW, the landing strip at Shamsi was originally built for rich Arabs to fly into for hunting vacations, including UBL and his family.
