Dear friend,
Last weekend while you were enjoying the weather or catching up with chores around the house, do you know where your Governor and Attorney General were? If you guessed in Richmond creating jobs and making life better for Virginians I’m sorry to disappoint you. They were in Vail at a conference hosted by Charles and David Koch, the billionaire CEO’s who help bankroll the Tea Party and a score of other right-wing, anti-environment, anti-middle class causes.
That’s right. While Virginia families struggle to find work and make ends meet, Bob McDonnell and Ken Cuccinelli jetted out to Colorado to kiss the ring of the very people who are funding the latest Republican attack on working families. I’m not sure you can get a clearer picture of their priorities than that.
This is the challenge we face. I don’t know any billionaires. I’ll bet you don’t either. Yet if we want to stand up to the radical McDonnell-Cuccinelli agenda and take our Commonwealth back, we’ve got to fight them pound for pound, dollar for dollar. That’s why we need your help.
The Republicans have their weekends with billionaire CEO’s in Vail. We’ve got you. Will you donate to the Democratic Party of Virginia today and help us remind McDonnell and Cuccinelli that Virginians should come before their right-wing corporate backers?
This November we have the chance to send Democrats to Richmond who will fight for the good jobs, good schools and clean environment we need to create opportunity for every Virginia family. McDonnell and Cuccinelli are building their money machine to elect candidates who will rubberstamp their anti-middle class agenda. We can beat them back, but not without you.
Stand with the DPVA today and donate $10, $25 or $50 to our campaign to re-elect our Democratic majority in the State Senate, pick up seats in the House and protect our families from the McDonnell-Cuccinelli agenda.
