Go after messengers, go after the posters...make them the issue...Divert, evade, deflect, distract...When all else fails, post nice looking pics of the chosen politician.

Same old strategy.... Over and over and over.

I don’t care who wrote it. Are any of the facts untrue?? Even if the author is a slut, that doesn’t necessarily make her wrong.

She is a dear, tenderhearted Christian woman and cherished patriot. Thank you for your support, but I would have appreciated your not using that word.

Playboy Bunny was a job serving drinks in a club.

I know women, abandoned by their parents when 12 years old, who turned tricks as teen age prostitutes just so they could survive. Today, some are conservative Republicans.

You need to grow up. People can change.

Fact of the matter, Perry change his tune/mind/whatever after *listening* to what the people of Texas had to say.

Malleable gummie politician.

Thank you for informing us that your attitude is un-Christian. It is good to issue such a disclaimer.

"Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us..."

Envision the alternative of God forgiving you, because you do not forgive even His children. Where does that take you?

I'm from the northeast and have only a passing knowledge of Texas Governor Rick Perry so I have no intention of engaging in a futile argument with anyone for or against the governor. Here's the dilemma: like most conservatives, I'm fed up with the GOP establishment foisting RINOs on us. McCain was the last straw and because of McCain and his weak campaign (Sarah Palin being the glaring exception) we got Obama and the disaster he has wrought. Now, we have a wide-open opportunity to get rid of Obama and likely gain power in both houses of congress in 2012, if we don't blow it. What so many of us fear is that we'll end up going with the candidate the MSM and Karl Rove types tell us we must nominate to win - and, assuming we do win, end up, yet again, with another big government RINO who is conservative on one or two important issues but goes left on others...a RINO. We can't afford that. Not again. So, when a potential candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination is touted by some as the penultimate conservative and castigated by others as a RINO simply masquerading as a conservative, it's frustrating. Like any politician, I'm sure Rick Perry has a few things on his record that are questionable to a conservative. I get it. No one is 100% 'pure'. Frankly, I'm fine with that. On the other hand, when folks make long lists of Perrys' sins against conservative ideology and others counter with equally long lists intended to validate his conservative credentials, I get wary.

Right now, I'm a staunch Sarah Palin supporter. She has been vetted by the left, obviously as well as the right. Although unquestionably conservative, Sarah Palin isn't ideologically 'pure' either - but she's darn close. If Sarah Palin doesn't run, I'll go with Michelle Bachmann as a fall-back choice. She is less appealing to this conservative than Palin but I have to pick a candidate in the primary and Bachmann seems a reasonable choice. Frankly, at this distance, so does Governor Rick Perry - but I'm not ready to jump on his bandwagon just yet. I want to learn more about him, and I will, if he declares his candidacy. As I stated, I'm wary of Republicans that are touted as conservatives based on their speeches and/or a few good positions they've taken but upon closer inspection have troubling aspects that can't be ignored.

I'm totally unconvinced by those who coo about how much they loooove Palin and Bachmann but follow that with 'let's be realistic' (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) and make it clear that no woman is going to be elected President of the United States. No, sir. No black person is, either. Oh, wait.

I think it is much better to go to the source and examine what Perry himself has said and done. This should be done when he is not trying to pretend to be what he is not in order to run for office. What has he said after he has won the office? He wants to help illegals and people along the border. He has no preference for which side of the border he should help. That is not exactly what conservatives look for in a candidate.

In the ten years he has been in office, what has he accomplished? His biggest project has been the Trans Continental Corridor a huge part of the push for a North American Union. Again, this is not what conservatives look for in a candidate. He has had ten years to show where his heart lies. It has not been with conservatives. He is extremely fortunate to live in a conservative state that has a weak governorship so that he can do very little to advance his Union dreams and desires. The Texas legislature also has done well and it seems to the world that he must have accomplished this when the legislature accomplished things in spite of Perry.

These are all signs of a stealth RINO. I know stealth RINO. Here in Florida we had one for governor. Fortunately his greed won out over patience and he wound up without a governorship or any higher office. If Crist had not been so greedy, he would have easily won another term as governor and probably would have been handed democrat senator Nelson’s seat. Would being patient have made him any less a RINO? No, but that is the reasoning some people are using here. Because Perry has been re-elected in a republican state, he can’t be a RINO.

If I hold Romney to his past words and actions, then I also have to hold Perry to his past words and actions. If I don’t give Romney a by when he said every kind of liberal word and performed every kind of liberal act, then I can’t let Perry slide from his past actions or lack of actions and words.

There is another quality that some here share with DU. It’s refusal to look at the truth. The desperation to latch on to a candidate based on appearances only. The GOP elite are counting on the vacuum caused by the lack of real conservatives running to make people fall for another amnesty loving presidential candidate because George Bush and John McCain were not enough for them.

Forgive us our sins is a plaintive plea to God not to me.

as we forgive those who sin against us

forgiveness is not forgetting.

It's not my job to forgive.

The pornography industry should never be forgiven for what they are doing to destroy the culture and the children

(Perry) one of the strands in the web of international conspiracy for those who see a stealth plan to merge the United States with Canada and Mexico.

You gotta be kidding me. Perry - international conspirator.

Rick Perry wanted to build 4,000 miles of mega-highway over a million and half acres of prime, productive Texas farmland.

Wow, 4,000 miles! Texas is big but it's hardly 4,000 miles from Laredo to the Oklahoma border.

BTW, have you ever been to a public meeting and had someone try to take over the meeting for their own agenda and accuse an entire panel of people of being liars. Talk about a conspiracy nut. That's Terri Hall. The woman who never saw a new highway she didn't hate or a media camera she didn't love.

So much to refute, so little time.

oh...good grief.... ” The Bilderbergers, Trilateralists, and Council on Foreign Relations, along with many other organizations are the groups implementing the New World Order.” Are we out of tin foil?

Read anything from objective patriots about them, then tell me what you think.

Conservatives must know what to conserve and from what.

Yep, Reagan signed a bill allowing no-fault divorces in Califronia—a movement which has decimated the nation since it was signed into law. He’s not perfect, but he’s the best we’ve seen in ages.

I’m keeping an open-mind to Perry.

The Perry trashing is hardly in the best interests of our Conservative agenda. The Loony Left does not need any help from us in character assassination of our Conservatives.
Our Conservative candidates are not perfect. None of them.
They have all made mistakes and carry baggage.
But what we must do is try to run one that has a chance of winning the White House from the Marxist/Muslim usurper.
We MUST win, or Hussein will finish America.

Freepers, don’t you think it more sensible to trust what the Conservative icons have to say about Perry?

>Sarah Palin threw her endorsement to Rick Perry for governor-. She recently restated that she likes Perry.

>Rush said that Perry is his dream candidate. http://gretawire.blogs.foxnews.com/rush-limbaugh-on-the-record-3/

>Michael Reagan praises Perry:
“If you don’t believe Reaganomics can still work in this day and age, for whatever reason, I say you should look no further than the state of Texas.
Under the leadership of Gov. Rick Perry, Texas has championed and built upon the concepts my father used to rebuild America in the 1980s..
In short, Reagan Revolution is alive and well - deep in the heart of Texas.”
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jun/24/reagans-vision-lives-on-in-texas/?page=1

>Ted Nugent is a close friend and supporter.

Don’t you think it more sensible to trust what numerous politicians and scholars have said about Rick Perry than some haters on FR?

VISIT THIS SITE

Read the official statements of dozens of Perry’s fellow politicians and scholars (both Democrats and Republicans) have had to say about Rick Perry: http://www.politico.com/arena/archive/rick-perry-for-president-in-2012.html

All (including Democrat opponents) have called him a staunch Conservative, and not one of the dozens issuing opinions has mentioned the vaccine or TTC.
Apparently they don’t consider these things an issue. They DID mention Perry threatening to secede from the unionas a strike against him.
What Perry actually said; “You know, my hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention,” Perry continued. “We’ve got a great union. There is absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what may come out of that? So. But Texas is a very unique place and we’re a pretty independent lot to boot.”

The highway /distance mileage is likely measured by both directions, not just northbound lanes.
