ATLANTA As many parts of Georgia's law cracking down on illegal immigration took effect Friday, a Latino community group organized a "day without immigrants" to protest the measure.
The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights called for a day of non-compliance, asking businesses to close and community members to stay home and not work or shop. It was hard to say how many skipped work, but organizers said at least 125 Atlanta-area businesses closed to show their support Friday.

If they think one day works, then what about 365 days?....hmmmm
My guess, shoplifting will be down over 50% that day...
The last time we had a Day Without An Immigrant, the only thing people noticed was that traffic was lighter.
Which is why there hasn’t been another nationwide one since.
Will they also be boycotting the hospital emergency rooms, state welfare offices and schools also?
A year without illegal immigrants. Up with the wall.
a “day without immigrants”
I’m liking it more and more, when can we have a
“Day without illegal border crossers.”
This
“Will they also be boycotting the hospital emergency rooms, state welfare offices and schools also?”
says it all
These illegals only want to rape us. What I will never understand is why legal citizens think it is ok
No mexican food or markets. BooHoo guess they went home hungry.
How about they really show the State of Georgia something and leave entirely.
S0 125 “illegal alien-sympathetic” businesses closed? That’s good news for the same businesses in direct competition with these idiots.
They tried that in AZ....did’nt work for them.
LEGAL citizens should permanently boycott those business that closed for the day.
You must live in or around Houston..
Well, if I’m your boss and you skip work, then I fire you. :)
The last time the illegal lobby tried this, I noted all of the businesses that closed in support (my town is small enough to do so), and I quit giving them MY support thereafter.
Nah, just take advantage of their relaxed views toward laws in a civil society. Trespass on their porperty and start stealing since they support that same kind of behaviour in others.
* Taco Tia's
* Pepe's Casa del Grande
* Low Rider Auto Parts
The list goes on...
That is exactly what I did. I loved the little Mexican place in town, but after they shut down for the day, I sent them an e-mail saying that I would not eat at their restaurant again because of their support of criminal behavior. It’s been out of business for 2 years now.
