God, I hope he’s not. Not only is he an idiot statist (big money =/= pro-freedom), but he’s also the only candidate who could lose to Obama IN TEXAS.

Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Herman Cain, Rudy the Drag-Queen Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul... they all trounce Obama in Texas. But Rick Perry loses.

Why?

Maybe because he’s a cheerleader for the Mexican invasion of the United States?
Maybe because he believes all little girls should be presumed infected with STDs?
Maybe because he’s a crony capitalist of the worst sort?

The last thing we need is another Texan statist to send the Republican party to the scrapheap, like W and Pappy.

>> His caving in to HEB and Perry Homes on the sanctuary cities bill this past week pretty much cinched my decision as to whether he’d get any support from me. <<

Caving in? He didn’t cave in; when it comes to promoting illegal immigration, he’s a crusading zealot!

Perry is looking more and more like he is going to run, for Sarah the reverse it true.

Which is why she launched a nationwide star spangled bus tour,
filmed a six part mini-series on Alaska,
wrote countless articles attacking the Obama regime's policies,
got under the regime's skin with tweet after tweet,
hired a foreign policy expert,
traveled abroad to visit with friends and allies,
worked like the dickens to elect conservative candidates to Congress in the midterm elections,
spoke at the Reagan Library,
and reached out to Stephen Bannon to produce a film about her life and career, which is opening across the country in two weeks.

Yeah...all that, because she's not interested in running.....

“I assume that you are a new Clarity, not the old Clarity?”

When I first signed on and started to post, people asked me the same thing, and told me there was a Clarity some years back — I have an extra “i”, Clairity and no, I never had “Clarity” without the extra “i” as a screen name.

Sarah is not making any attempt at raising funds and reaching out to prominent Republicans for support.

Like it or not, it’s money that makes the world go around and it’s essential for presidential campaigns.

I think she is enjoying what she is doing, being a conservative voice, she is making a difference by speaking out, gets a lot of publicity, in not beholden to anyone.

Whatever the MSM may say about her, she is NOT stupid, in fact she is very smart.

I've been considering this too Clarity.

I posted a lot of Sarah Palin threads and followed her (read "Going Rogue" to get her side of the matter and was glad I did).

But lately her public persona reminds me more of a highbrow striptease. I love her guts, her positions and her energy but the "will she" show is starting to bore and annoy me.

Are you pro sanctuary cities? The Texas DREAM Act? The massive highway land grab from Mexico to Texas?

I just saw an article about Romney having raised a lot of funds.

Romney Backers Tout Fund-Raising

"Supporters of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said they have raised between $25 million and $35 million in support of his presidential ambitions, a total that far outstrips his rivals and could further establish Mr. Romney as the Republican Party's front-runner."

There is no reason for Sarah to wait getting in, if she is really planning to run.

Perry had to wait until the special session of the Legislature was over, but he was starting to reach out, was in CA a few days ago, he is showing he is serious.

The only explanation for Sarah just teasing, but not announcing, is that what she will announce is that she is not running. If she were running, she would have declared. This ambiguity she is creating keeps up the interest in her and ensures media attention. The reason she is waiting to announce she is not running, because the media and a lot of people would lose interest in her.

Though I think she can still play a significant role in keeping conservative values in front of the eyes of people.

Since she campaigned for Perry for reelection, my personal opinion is that Perry will announce shortly that he is running, Palin will announce soon thereafter that she is not running and will endorse Perry. Time will tell, as you said before. :)

And some comments on that page taken from “Conservatives4Palin”:

“TheTotalConservative is frustrated with rumors that Palin will endorse Rick Perry and sit 2012 out:

I hate even seeing these rumors. If she skips 2012 and endorses Perry it will be tragic and a let down to everyone that is rooting for her. Dick Perry is Not Good Enough.”

Another "fundraising" article: GOP candidate Pawlenty raises $4.2M

The article says that Pawlenty is raising money for both the primary and the general election while Romney's fundraising totals thus far are for his primary run alone.

Perry Opposition Researchers meeting here "What may be an even more interesting indicator of whether Governor Perry will run or not is his opposition. The Texas Democratic Party is raising money to fund a website to introduce the "Real Rick Perry" to America. [Texas Democratic] Spokeswoman Kirsten Gray says their campaign for funds has also been going well."

You must be Kirsten Gray of TX Democratic Party Opposition Research fame.

HEB grocer magnet Butts and Bill Perry of Perry homes fought Rick Perry’s special session push for secure cities.

Go talk to the TX legislature about their fat campaign war chests soon to be filled by HEB and Bill Perry Homes.

Oh stop, these people and others have been supporting Perry and the Republican party down there for years.

Try reading the story and history on these people and the tens of thousands they given to Perry.
