He might be brave enough to parachute out of an airplane, and he might be slick enough to sell books door-to-door over the summer, but is this yell leader tough enough to take on a broken government, a corrupt political system, a heavily biased mainstream media, and a malicious, beligerent, ugly Left to do what is necessary to get our government and spending under control?

Sarah Palin thinks Rick Perry is capable of it too.

“He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks by his guns – and you know how I feel about guns,” she said.

“Not every child is born into ideal circumstances, but every life is sacred,” Palin said in the mail appeal. “Rick Perry knows this – it is at the core of his being.:

“I think he would be a fine candidate,” she said. “We have a lot in common. I really like him.” [guess who?]

We could do a lot worse than Rick Perry.

The late Lloyd Bentsen, another "conservative Democrat," was a war hero in WW 2, flying bombers on dangerous missions and surviving being shot down twice. That did not prevent him from becoming pro-abortion once he became a national Demonrat.

George McGovern also flew bombers in WW 2. G. W. Bush flew dangerous jets, yet turned out to be a big-govt. "compassionate conservative."

The sad fact is that serving in the military is no guarantee of dedication to the principles of Constitutional limited govt.
