I was thinking that immediately on seeing her surname.
I was just going to google it.
I will and report back.

I never had that kind of room service before.

Well apparently there is room service...

and there is room service...

...Is it too late for you to ask for a refund

Interesting, what I found....this is absolutely the FIRST time I have seen her name, but as soon as ONE WEEK after the alleged assault took place she was mentioned by name on a website called AFRICAN VIEWS, which also included a comprehensive run-down of everything that was known about the case, and ALL the players from the IMF, French politics and US Law Enforcement. Kind of surprising that her name has been out there that long. Some commentators have even written that she was the WIFE of Amadou Diallo, and they both have roots in Guinea. But Diallo happens to be a surname in that part of the world as common as “Kim” in Korea.

Diallo is the West African equivalent of Smith or Patel or Chang.

Extremely common surname over there, like Smith or Jones.

Meet Nafissatou Diallo

Considering the circumstances, it would be wise to decline.

I have always wondered if some of the maids in some of these upscale hotels don’t offer sex for pay to their wealthy clients. It may have been customary for Dominique Strauss-Kahn to engage in the maid services at some of these hotels. Strauss-Kahn may have thought Nafissatou Diallo was one of those maids and offered money. When she refused, he took offense and took his liberties anyway.

Her name and photo have been plastered all over the French press for months.
In America, we have an unwritten rule about not publishing the name or photo of alleged victims of sex crimes. I will continue to respect that journalistic tradition.
No matter the character of the victim, or her immigration status, I believe the attack did indeed take place.
Knowing DSK’s history and following his career for many years, there is nothing in this woman’s story to make me doubt it. We have heard it all many times before over many years.

Maybe he called the front desk and ordered “womb cervix”.

I agree completely. DSK has a pattern of this kind of behavior over the years. His wife’s god daughter TrIstane Banon is planning to sue DSK for attempted rape, describing the incident as almost identical to the one in NY.
No matter what the accuser’s lifestyle or character, it doesn’t change the fact she was atracked.
DSK is a serial sexual predator, and every woman who has ever had contact with him knows it. No one in France was shocked, just feigning shock that the “ corrupt American justice system” finally caught him.

Is she an illegal?

Not according to local news reports. She came here legally on a visitor's visa then claimed asylum saying that if she was sent back, she would be raped or killed. She was granted asylum and has a legal "green" card.

"I have always wondered if some of the maids in some of these upscale hotels don’t offer sex for pay to their wealthy clients."

A fantasy. I doubt it. I've been three times 'round the world. Stayed in everything from 5-star hotels to $10 per night flop houses. Never had that kind of "service" offered by hotel staff. In some places sex workers were allowed on hotel property for a "fee" paid to the hotel manager, or "fine" paid to the local house detective. The closest thing was a late night call I once received from a front desk clerk asking "did you want something from the lady in the lobby?" Other than that, there was always a strict adherence to a division of labor. The women who cleaned your room may have come from starving impoverished families, doing menial low paying jobs for wealthy world travelers, but they weren't whores. No amount of money offered could change that.

Basically the same here, except I lost track of times around the world. Owned an international group-travel company (CEO), used to host "Bonus Tours" (New Year's Eve in Seville or London, Summer Carribbean Cruises) which we gave as free perqs to our biggest group leaders. Worked doing that for over 20 years.

I never, ever even came close to a "chance sexual liason," never even heard of one... especially as a "service" (even sub-rosa) offered by a reputable hotel.

Though I have heard some racey stories about trips to Viet Nam and Thailand from a Spanish supplier. Different ballgame. I mean, why else would someone travel 22 hours to go to a place called Bangkok or Phuket?

8^D

I seem to recall that Bangkok once got the creme de la creme of the
chess world.

Or at least that's what Murray Head said.

“The union she belongs to sent her to work at the luxury hotel ...”

When a business does not hire their own employees they are courting disaster. Unions have far too much power over unionized companies these days.
