D-Day for Casey: Prosecutors dismiss 'absurd' claim that Caylee drowned

Casey Anthony’s six-week murder trial finally rested today as jurors were sent away to decide whether her two-year-old daughter was the victim of an accidental drowning that she covered up out of fear and grief, or was brutally murdered by a 'pathological liar' who wanted to live free and party.

Judge Belvin Perry dispatched the jury in Orlando, Florida, to consider their verdict after the state delivered an emotionally stirring rebuttal to the defence’s closing arguments, telling the panel of seven men and five woman that Caylee Anthony died in June 2008 at the hands of 'the most well documented liar ever seen in a courtroom.'

Anthony scowled, shook her head and at times mouthed her objections as prosecutors Jeff Ashton and Linda Drane-Burdick closed out their assertion that Caylee was suffocated deliberately by her mother and tossed in the woods to rot.

As seasoned trial attorneys will tell you, it was all over after jury selection. Why the state was unable to use one of their challenges to strike current juror number 4 I’ll never know. The judge unfortunately on that one, played the race card.

Nasty vile animal Casey Anthony needs to be put to death. Very rare to see that happen to a woman, though.

Completely absurd.

If someone is “drowned”, no doubt they are dead.

But the average person without training doesn’t know one way or the other for sure. SOMEBODY would have called SOMEONE asking for first-aid, whatever.

I wish I was being ironic here, but in her mind, it was probably just a very late term abortion.

People are so desynthesized these days. This is the inevitable result of making abortion so cheap, fast and easy.

Sure we do! Who covers up an accident by making it look like a murder? No one.

The baby drowns in a pool, not an uncommon thing to happen in Florida, and instead of calling 911, someone wraps duct tape around her head, puts her in a couple of bags, drives around with the decomposing body for a few days and then tosses her in the woods.

Ridiculous theory, I don't care how weird the family is.

I believe that these crimes are related to abortion in this country. My proposition is that since they 'carried' (property) the child, combined with the dehumanizing effect abortion has on unborn children, these women somewhat retain the 'right' to exercise life or death decisions regarding the child. After birth.

NOT guilty on all counts should be the verdict, but it will be a hung jury instead.

There was ZERO evidence other than that Casey was a party girl liar. That doesn't make you a murderer.

What if the sex obsessed, pedophile, adulterous, grandfather realized that Caylee was beginning to talk and could now tell everyone about the little games grandpa was playing with her? Just like the games he played with his daughter?

Why would that scenario be so hard to believe? Less believable than that an obviously loving mother would murder her child?

OR, that grandpa, negligently allowed Caylee to drown in the pool. Maybe for hours, so that there would be no reason to call 911, since she was obviously dead. Grandpa fearing the blame and wrath from Cindy disposed of the body, with the help of Casey, because of some control he had over her.

faucetman;

Don’t you think the mother would have called the police on that crime? No doubt in my mind that call would have happened, in public or in private.

NOT guilty on all counts should be the verdict,

Oh yeah, most girls continue to party hard, sleep around, and get tatoos after their daughter drowns in a pool...

and the dead daughter? No problem, just chuck the body into a swamp somewhere in the woods, and pretend it never happened. and if anybody should ask, just tell'em she's with "Zanny the Nanny". This is all just perfectly normal behavior for a daughter trying to cover up her fathers crime.

Yeah this makes sense...about as much sense as a jack-ass eating cactus!

Obviously this person has their head up and locked. Hope they never appear on a jury with their preconceived notions. Must have gathered all their infromation from the newspapers.

Exactly. Not to mention the evidence regarding chloroform; it would only be used with someone who was still alive. Poor child.
