That's a rather offensive comparison considering Milk was a avowed communist and deeply connected with Jim Jones of Jonestown Massacre fame. So I see it's going to be a bunch of PC lies. Milk was not killed because he was gay. Mayor Moscone (a heterosexual) was killed first by recently resigned supervisor Dan White because he refused to reappoint White to the board. Milk was then killed because he had lobbied hard to prevent White's reappointment. White had also planned to kill two other heterosexuals who had lobbied against his reappointment, but things had gotten hot by then and he fled the building instead.

This complete fabrication of an anti-gay motive will of course be taught in the textbooks.
