“Fast and Furious” Blows Sky-High

This morning, there was a stunning development in Congress’s investigation of the Justice Department’s “Fast and Furious” gun-running program: it was revealed that on July 4, Kenneth Melson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Obama administration’s intended fall guy in the scandal, broke ranks with his superiors. Without their knowledge, he gave an interview to Darrell Issa’s House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, accompanied only by his personal attorney. While a transcript of that interview is not yet public, it is clear that he blew the whistle on senior officials in the Justice Department.

Alas, there were a lot of guns and about 150 officials are known to have been shot with those guns, or by folks who held such guns (whether used or not in the murders).

Eventually even the most corrupt government has to move to protect its members ~ odds are good that FAVORITE PEOPLE have already been killed.

I know in my gut that the intent of this program was to undermine gun rights, blaming murders on such weapons that made their way across the US border.

No other reason explains the stupidity of the concept that supposedly was Gunwalker’s purpose.

This will go to the Office of the President and to the president himself if it is permitted to proceed unhindered.

Socialists must get rid of gun ownership.

You and me both. The slower the boil the more the pressure for the criminal psychopaths in the regime to do something stupid and out themselves even more. These chickensh*t Chicago punks aren’t used to being opposed and challenged, and especially by someone with subpoena power. They’re liable to crack.

The power Obama has now can pretty much be fit inside the head of a pin.

They all answer to us anyway, and we’re not stupid enough to let them get away with it.

You might see people from ABCBSNBCPBSNPRCNNMSNBC and others named in the indictments

Now that would be unexpectedly sweet. Fox and the alternative media would have a field day

At some point, it will be too big to contain and the MSM will have to start asking the much harder questions.

Really,,,?? The MSM asks the harder questions?

Since when?

It would not matter a WIT if they were actually involved in the “crimes” or not....They are fellow travelers..and will NOT report the truth.

Grassley will follow it right up until the EPA threatens to declare corn a pollutant. Then he will fold and slink away. This is Issa's show.

Wow:

The evidence gathered by Issa’s oversight committee suggests that the Obama administration may actually have financed the purchases of firearms by known criminals, which then wound up in the hands of Mexican gangs and were involved in murders, including the murder of an American border patrol agent:

The evidence we have gathered raises the disturbing possibility that the Justice Department not only allowed criminals to smuggle weapons but that taxpayer dollars from other agencies may have financed those engaging in such activities. While this is preliminary information, we must find out if there is any truth to it. According to Acting Director Melson, he became aware of this startling possibility only after the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and the indictments of the straw purchasers, which we now know were substantially delayed by the u.s. Attorney’s Office and Main Justice.

Really,,,?? The MSM asks the harder questions?

Once certain media realize they are backing a dead horse in 2012, the questions will get a lot harder

Of course there will always be the boot licking sycophants journOlists who will never actually do their job, unless their jobs are paid propagandists, then all hail Obama !!!

I agree. I don’t buy for a minute the fact that Zero didn’t know about this. Zero knew full well.

Interesting report from the LA Times:

“On Wednesday, Mexican federal police released a videotaped interrogation with recently captured Jesus Rejon Aguilar, an alleged founder of the Zetas gang there who is wanted in the slaying of a U.S. immigration agent in Mexico. He brazenly told them that “all the weapons are bought in the United States” and that “even the American government itself was selling the weapons.”

He added, “Whatever you want, you can get.”

I’d like to see Issa investigate any quid pro quo between the cartels and the Obama Administration....like campaign donations, etc. The dems have long had drug money in their coffers...it is time to expose it for all of the American people to see!

Trying them in Mexico sounds tempting but would fizzle. There is nowhere in the New World more corrupt and Buyable than the Mexican legal system. The Mexicans would fine them ten bucks and let them go, after having been "stimulated" with a few million tax dollars.

There may be something to what you say. I have heard that this was simply a propaganda ploy to make the US gun situation look out of control. To make something like that work, the administration would need a couple media lapdogs on board to push the “news” that US guns are fueling the violence in Mexico.

Obama and Holder could then move on to Operation Gun Grab perhaps after a Gleiwitz type incident. However something went wrong and it appears the house of cards is coming down on the lies.

Harder is a relative term.

Harder than balsa wood...for instance.

Harder than 2nd grade math?

Or harder than Iron wood?
