Mark Levin used to rant AGAINST a balanced budget amendment, since it would just give the socialists an excuse to raise taxes to “pay for” their crazy spending and “balance the budget.”

But recently, Levin keeps RECOMMENDING a balanced budget amendment. I’m listening to him right now.

Can someone explain this switch? Is he referring to some new version of a proposed amendment?

Levin probably likes the votes required to raise the tax limit. Something like 2/3 or 67 votes, 60 during time of war.

Yes. He's talking about the most recent version that also limits spending to 18% of GDP and forces a 2/3 vote to raise taxes.
