Supreme Court refuses stay of Texas execution

By a 5-4 vote along ideological lines, the Supreme Court has just refused to stay the execution of convicted killer Humberto Leal Garcia, a Mexican convicted of the rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in 1994. The Obama Administration, citing concerns over U.S. interests and treaty obligations, had asked the court to delay the execution, scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern Time tonight.

Our justice system may not be perfect, but the one where he’s going is.

The sad part is taking 17 years to do what should have been done 15 years ago.

Leal Garcia, 38, was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl and then bludgeoning her to death with a piece of asphalt in 1994 in Texas.

Sick tasbard....death is too good for this southern border import piece of basura...

The Reuters article conveniently omits the info that rapist/murderer has been in the country illegaly since he was two years old.

If you right-click on an image and select View Image Info (or a similar item in your browser of choice) you sometimes will see the person’s name in the file name.

In some browsers, there is no item in the contextual menu similar to View Image Info. In that case, cancel the contextual menu and drag your mouse over the image until it is highlighted. Now right-click on it and select Source or Source code, or similar. In the window that opens up, the HTML code for the image will be highlighted and the file name in that code might reveal the person’s name.

Or, right-click on the image and select Copy Image Location, then go to a text box of some sort and do a Control-V to copy the URL into the text box.

In this case, it’s Ron White, a comedian.

True. But at least in 17 minutes justice will finally be served.

good, except that the feds and Mexico will probably sue Texas now. we live in a crazy world!

Thats what the Supreme Court just decided. The Feds sued to stop the execution and the SCOTUS sided with the State of Texas. There is no other court left to sue in.

He was brought here by illegal parents when he was 2 years old. How they think this POS warrants treaty rights of a Mexican National is beyond me.

He doesn't have a "right" to mexican consul anyway. From the same article:

The Vienna Convention guarantees residents of foreign countries the right to see representatives of their governments when they are arrested.

Although the U.S. government has signed the Vienna Convention, Congress has not passed a law to implement it.

Isn’t that the truth. Another 5-4 decision right down “party lines” of the nominating POTUS. One more reason that I will vote for the most conservative candidate in the primary and a ham sandwich with an R by its name in the general if need be.

Why does the Mexican government even claim as a citizen a rapist who bludgeoned his 16-year-old victim with a 35-pound piece of asphalt? They must be very proud.

He will stand before the real Supreme Court in ten minutes.
