Police in Grand Rapids say that seven people were shot and killed at two locations on Thursday and they are actively searching for suspect Rodrick Shonte Dantzler.
Police say three people, reportedly two women and a 10-year-old girl, are dead at one scene, and four others were killed at a separate scene about two miles away, reports CBS affiliate WWMT.
According to a local station, another man was shot in what police believe is a related incident, but was not killed.
The shootings stemmed from a domestic issue, reports The Grand Rapids Press.
Police say they are searching for the 34-year-old Dantzler. Dantzler is described as a black male, about 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighing 265 pounds with a large, muscular build, dreadlocks, and tattoos all over his body.
Dantzler is believed to be driving a cream Lincoln Towncar, Michigan plate BWK-2308.
Dantzler has a criminal record. He pleaded guilty in 2010 to assault and battery and served about a year. In 2000 he entered a guilty plea to assault with bodily harm less than murder and was sentenced to three to ten years.
In 1997 he was given a year of probation for malicious destruction of property, and in 1992 he was charged as a juvenile for breaking and entering.
Police say Dantzler is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees Dantzler is asked to call 911 or their local police department.

I got some information about him: he's a hard-core con and a psycho who should never have been allowed out of a maximum security prison, which is exactly what happened, and recently.
Somewhere in MI tonight there's someone saying "I knew this was going to happen."
No, I think they were white. I think my niece may have known the girl who was killed. They used to live on that street.

Yeah... Too bad the authorities don’t seem to be able to figure this out until after something like this happens.
WOOD TV 8 showing video of police car shot up (obvious cracks in windshield), and red SUV with civilian in it. Female in SIV had been hit in arm. Non-life threatening. No police hit. Suspect was in White SUV (not making that up), despite earlier reports of Lincoln.
Of course that's not literally true. The police provided some other, more specific, characteristics of Dantzler's appearance. For some reason CNN has chosen to avert its eyes.
