THE JUNE NUMBERS: The government will report Friday morning whether the unemployment rate changed in June, and how many jobs were added last month. President Obama is scheduled to deliver a statement on the report from the Rose Garden at 10:35 a.m. Later in the morning, he will sit down for interviews with TV reporters from Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Raleigh-Durham.
In guidance to reporters, the White House said Obama will focus in the interviews on "the economy and the importance of finding a balanced approach to deficit reduction." They're scheduled to be shown at 5 p.m..
