In my 33 years in the workplace, Ive noticed that bad managers have one common trait. The worse they are and the worse the situation, the more they concentrate on irrelevant trivia. Once, while explaining why the company was going to lose its huge, one-and-only government contract, I was criticized by the president that I shouldnt wear such dark colors. They didnt look good on me. They lost the contract and 600 good paying jobs. (Each of the clueless got bonuses until the end. You could tell when they got them, theyd all go out and buy new cars.)
Clueless, yet they got the money.
