Years ago I had an Ishapore arsenal Enfield in my hot little paws. It was rearsenaled for .308 NATO

The shop owner talked me out of it saying they had feed issues.
I don’t know why he talked me out of a sale.
I still wish I had bought that .308 Ishapore

I haven’t seen one since.

I bought a brace of those Ishy Enfields in .308 a while back. My first experience with that action. Once I got them cleaned up, they shot like a dream. No feed issues.

They’re my stash ‘em and hide ‘em rainy day go-to rifles. Guaranteed to shoot well enough to get you a better rifle. Or put meat on the table.

You haven’t seen them since because once you fire one of them you learn what an excellent rifle they are.

I bought two when I had the chance and paid $10.00 each extra for “hand select” service. Total cost for both was under $300.00. I’ll not part willingly with either of them for 5 times what I paid for them.
