America needs more bullying dreamers
The Examiner ^ | 6/21/2011 | Noemie Emery

...On behalf of what she calls the Republican Party, Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan bids adieu to the past decade and to the Bush Doctrine, to what she calls "un-Republican" conduct, aka "bullying dreaminess." But who defines what is "Republican conduct?" Calvin Coolidge? Dwight Eisenhower? Robert Taft? Or Theodore Roosevelt, the "bullying dreamer" himself?...

...Rubio's maiden speech talked of a world that needs an "American century" and an America that needs to defend humane aspiration. Sounds like a proper idea of "Republican conduct."

Sounds like a bullying dreamer to me...

Very thought provoking, at least to me. Read the full original to follow the thought.

“...the old GOP rift to assert itself, between the realists and the idealistic crusaders who, back then once again lacking a president, split over President Clinton’s humane interventions in Central Europe in his second term.”

I really despise these kinds of opinion pieces. “...the realists and the idealistic crusaders..” What crap! So, if you’re a RINO, I suppose you’re a realist; if you want to uphold the U.S.Constitution, I suppose you’re an idealistic crusader.

The U.S.Constitution set the limits of the tyranny of government, and that we, the people, consent to be governed - not the other way ‘round. I’ll take that any day over the political expediency of the so-called realists!

Bill Clinton supported Muslims against Serbian Christians. The Serbs knew Al-Qaida was abiding in camps, training terrorists. And Clinton, who is supposed to be so smart, goes and supports the wrong side!

Lovely aspirations.

How many countries will we have to invade to fully implement them?

This old bag is a Weakly Substandard writer. She is a hack and a dope.

America that needs to defend humane aspiration.

What says that Rubio was saying War? We have all types of ways to promote American ideals to the world. Apparently this flunky is no fan of American exceptionalism.

La Noonan condemning bullying dreaminess? Isn’t that like the pot scolding the kettle for being black?

Just part of the Peggy’s vapidly obfuscating driftingness of the lostly fading cluelessnesses evanescing into the ethers of Lethe.

Karl Rove and Peggy Noonan produce enough oil and gas to run our power grid for a thousand years.

Peggy Noonan bids adieu...

And well she should. She adds nothing to the WSJ. Let her write for the Village Voice, where her New York provincialism would be an asset.

I used to think ‘our Peggy’ was not fit for the WSJ but no longer, the WSJ is turning left just like FOX. Murdoch was just using the ‘Conservative’ perspective to establish more of the same old lefty crap. We’ve been bamboozled by the faux Right for a long time. Watch how Boehner gives up on the debt negotiations....slimy crooks all!

"the realists and the idealistic crusaders"

The Pragmatic Realists versus the idealistic NeoCon republicans on the right and the idealistic Liberal Interventionist democrats on the left, or as the author describes them as liberal hawks.

Who were/are the two most influential Realists working for Obama? Hint: the both served on the Iraq Study Group. Gates and Panetta.

Who are the two most influential Liberal Interventionists working for Obama? Clinton and Biden.

Democratic presidents usually appoint Realists to NSA and SecDef while the SecState job usually goes to a Liberal Interventionist.

Republican presidents usually appoint Realists to NSA and SecState while SecDef job usually goes to a NeoCon.
