It's now easier to get medical marijuana than a Starbucks coffee in Denver

There are now more medical marijuana dispensaries in the Mile High city than there are branches of Starbucks.

In Denver, Colorado, there are nearly 300 locations where patients with a prescription from a doctor can legally buy medical marijuana, reports The Daily.

New patients are often treated to a free joint, and have their choice of an ever growing array of strains of marijuana, many with colourful names like Golden Goat and Romulan Cotton Candy.

Besides Colorado, 15 other states plus Washington, D.C., have laws that allow use of medical marijuana.

This does not trump federal law, but the Obama administration has said it is not interested in prosecuting state-licensed dispensaries or those who use the drug as prescribed by a doctor.

During the Bush administration, federal agents did often clash with the medical marijuana industry in states where it had been locally legalized, and many shops were raided.

Westword editor Patricia Calhoun told The Daily: 'It’s a fun new writing area, and if your publication prides itself on doing strong cultural coverage of art, theatre and food, then why not do pot, too?'

Mr Breathes is said to be an experienced journalist, and he writes on all aspects of the Denver medical marijuana scene, including detailed reviews of specific strains for sale, the shops and relevant political and social issues.

She’s definitely a candidate for Mensa membership. My father used to blow cigar smoke in out pet cat’s face. My sister and I would howl in laughter

"I don’t know what you’re seeing in your local area but 80-90% of the illegals left here about two years ago. Ain’t no Third World in this town now."

The Third World is heavy in afternoon traffic on 285 further west than Federal Blvd. now. See temp. hiring in Dillon. Don't even get me started on Aurora.

As for meth, it's all over the place. Dennisw, it's not mostly the illegals. It's mostly white Americans. The DEA missed.

Not a chance. I grew up there and left in '80 never to look back. But all of Denver is a pit AFAIC and has been for a long time.

On “illegals,” I wasn’t talking about only the illegals because of the rackets (some made citizens within five months). But I’ll concede this. There haven’t been many jobs except for a couple or so highway jobs. So yes, many illegals have probably left. But that’s a semantic thing.

Some are more expensive to assimilate than others, if they assimilate at all. Taxpayers pay for that assimilation, education and other things, so employers don’t have to. No intention to confuse here, BTW, with those few formerly Spaniard and Mexican ranching families that have been around for over 100 years.

Some people call it a fallen world. Some people find solace pointing fingers at others.

Not here it isn't. It's a reality and and it's a big improvement over the previous ten years.

I can’t say about other parts of CA but in Santa Barbara the feds raid dispensaries on a regular bases. The raids never amount to much, what a waste of taxpayers money.

Thank god there are people who stand up for the true conservative principle of supporting federal law over state law.

More so than drunks?

Impossible!

Well, drunks aren’t as much long winded as they are incapable of talking without repeating themselves and stumbling over their idiotic thoughts.

“Thank god there are people who stand up for the true conservative principle of supporting federal law over state law.”

Exactly. Everyone should just ignore the Federal laws they don’t like. Just like Obama.

You are supporting federal laws based on the New Deal Commerce Clause. I doubt you'll be demanding that Obama strictly enforce federal health care, environmental and education laws, so you seem to be the selective one.

Now, how do you justify supporting the New Deal Commerce Clause?

Yeah, and the Feds should just steamroll over state laws they don’t like. Just like Obama. And Bush. And just about every other President.
