Pawlenty Criticizes Bachmann’s Record (T-Paw goes for the throat on the Sunday talk shows)
National Review ^ | 07/11/2011 | Brian Bolduc

Posted on 07/11/2011 7:02:03 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

On Meet the Press this morning, former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty took a swipe at fellow presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann (R., Minn.).

“I like Congresswoman Bachmann. I’ve campaigned for her. I respect her. But her record of accomplishment in Congress is non-existent,” he said. “We’re not looking for folks who just have a speech capability.”

Bachmann is a major threat to Pawlenty in Iowa, where a Des Moines Register poll puts his support at only 6 percent — and Bachmann’s at 22 percent.

What has T-paw done for anyone lately? What’s he doing now in terms of providing some leadership for Republicans in Minnesota dealing with the state shutdown? He’s a pot calling a kettle black.

Pawlenty's a threat too -- to finish in last and be the first candidate to throw in the towel.

Other than voting “Present,” Zero didn’t accomplish a d@mn thing during his time in the Senate.

When will Mr. Pawlenty start slamming that record?

Bachmann fires back at Pawlenty for ‘negativity’

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/170591-bachmann-fires-back-at-pawlenty-for-negativity

EXCERPT:

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) fired back Sunday evening at former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R), chiding her rival for the GOP presidential nomination for “negativity.”

Bachmann outlined her legislative accomplishments in response to Pawlenty’s criticism earlier Sunday that her record during three terms in Congress was “non-existent.”

“This is an election about the future of our nation - one where voters will have to decide who is best equipped to lead our nation by looking at our records, as well as our vision for the nation,” Bachmann responded in a statement. “Instead of negativity, I want to focus on my accomplishments.”

Her statement didn’t mention Pawlenty by name, and played up her dogged opposition to some of President Obama’s agenda, including healthcare reform, cap-and-trade, and the 2008 Wall Street bailout.

Hah! What a phony! TPaw refuses every opportunity to take it to Romney but feels free to lash out at MB. I guess he’s really running to be Romney’s number 2 and MB is putting those plans in jeopardy.

The simple truth is he isn’t going to win any votes attacking Michele. We know her and know she has been a reliable conservative just as we know he has been a lackluster one to say the least. When is the last time Tim Pawlenty has took heat for conservatism? I don’t dislike the guy but for a man who didn’t have the guts to take on Romney he isn’t doing himself any favors attacking the lone woman in the race. Also his record on job creation was anemic just like Romney’s.

I for one am more concerned with what a person does to block bad legistlation than how much new crap they produce. That said Bachman has sponsered and cosponsered several hundred pieces of legistlation. Some of it has made it into law but some of it hasn’t. I think we can tell a bit about her by her enemies and the left almost hates Bachmann as much as Palin.

He's got executive experience while she's got bupkis. He's more qualified. PERIOD.

Obama was a lawyer with a thin legislative record. She's the ideological flip side of that same coin of inexperience.

Reminds me of that other Congressman who became President — Abe Lincoln.

Pawlenty is running to his liberal media friends for help defeating the more conservative Bachmann.

This doesn’t make him look good to early primary voters. Then again he doesn’t seem to care.

T-paw is basically just a Lutheran version of Mitt Romney. He should just endorse the good hair guy and get out of the way to avoid getting his clock cleaned by a lady with far more testosterone.

Too much of a pussy to go after Romney, but a girl is just right to pick a fight with. Go Home Pawlenty, you already blew it!

Timmy should take aim at the real enemy, if he is up for a real fight. It would do more to boost his poll numbers than harassing Michele will accomplish.

Better yet, considering the way this is going, Timmy should get off the public dole, and find a real job where he can do some good.

If being an unprincipled, squishy RINO makes one "More Qualified" then yes, Timmy is more qualified then Bachmann.

Reminds me of all the other "great" presidents with executive experience like Carter and Clinton.
