Obama Would Rather Be Talking About NFL Lockout Over Debt Crisis
Real Clear Politics ^ | 7/11/2011 | Barack Obama

(video at link)

"We are not out here trying to use this as a means of doing all these really tough political things. I would rather be talking about stuff that everybody welcomes like new programs or the NFL season getting resolved. Unfortunately, this is what's on our plate. It's before us right now and we've got to deal with it. What you are right about, I think, is that the leaders in the room here, at a certain point, have to step up and do the right thing regardless of the voices in our respective parties that are trying to undermine that effort."

Bzzzzt, thanks for playing. Not everyone welcomes new programs and your belief that they do is why we are broke. As for the NFL, why don't you go hang around the locker room and stop annoying the serious people.

Listen to it again, and you’ll find he’d rather be COMING UP WITH NEW GUBBERMINT PROGRAMS than following the NFL.

This thing is so dumb that he shouldn’t be allowed on the airwaves. He’s also insanely condescending because like most dumb people, he doesn’t realize how dumb he is.

Exactly. He is pushing for tax increases not to balance the budget, but to pay for EVEN MORE NEW PROGRAMS.

With "programs" meaning entitlement programs, and "everybody" meaning his fellow-traveling comrades.

Talking about it on the golf course, no doubt.

Reminds me of that movie, Private Benjamin, when she shows up at boot camp and says, "See, I did join the army, but I joined a *different* army. I joined the one with the condos and the private rooms. "

Obama wants the perks of being president, but he didn't sign up for the actual work that the president has to do.

Words fail me.

What a maroon.

If Obama doesn't get it yet that what we DON'T want is new programs, and, in fact, we know we need to see old programs cut, something is wrong with him. Seriously.
